Monday blue jeans

Oh weekend, it's like you were over before you even began.

On Saturday it rained, and rained, until it snowed and there was lightning. I had the pleasure of driving through it all. In the morning Meg and I went to a Retail 101 sale, which I'd heard good things about from a friend who was always instagramming all these Anthropologie dresses and such she'd picked up for $10, but both Meg and I left empty handed. The sale was set up in a high school gym with things roughly organized by size and type, but you pretty much just had to dig through cardboard boxes to find things, and it was mostly stuff from Urban Outfitters and American Eagle.

After that we hit the clearance Easter candy at Target (just try and stop me from buying $1 Mini Eggs) and then went to Marshalls where we struck out again. I'm sure I'll make up for it shortly.

Sunday was a quite day at home listening to Radiolab podcasts, and peeking in on the eaglets in D.C. Venturing out only for groceries, having been out of milk for three days I'd been having café con panna... and not feeling the least bit guilty about the extra indulgence.

  1. Love this casual chic outfit! We had ridiculous winds this weekend, scary even!

  2. It's always disappointing to hit a big sale someone else has raved about only to find it's a jumbled mess that seems to have little to offer - I can completely sympathise, as this happens to me with pretty much every sale I ever go to. But I always find a way to make up for it, and I'm sure you will too ;) And in the meantime you still have a fabulous wardrobe at home. I always love when this leopard tunic makes an appearance, it's such a fabulous piece.

So disappointed with our shopping trip, BUT better to have not spent money (even though I spent over $200 later that evening on sandals! HAHA!)

  4. I totally know that feeling, sometimes I don't go places specifically because I think when someone talks about it, it's a little bit of a letdown! Then I'm like all judgy about my friend who likes it because I have no idea how anyone could call it a good deal.

  5. This is such a chic outfit. I love the leopard top and the earrings! I usually find myself disappointed in the big warehouse sales since I can never find the cute things that my friends always find. I try to console myself with the fact I "saved" money, lol!

  9. Mini eggs are the best! I have been trying to avoid them because we already have so much candy in the house, but we will see if I am completely successful!

  14. The weather really has been all over the place these days! The weekend always seems to fly by in the blink of an eye. I scored some Easter candy on sale last week too and I was pretty happy about it :) It sounds like you had a nice weekend. I love the longer length of your cardigan and the top you're wearing in this outfit.

  18. Hi Lyddie! Retail 101 sounded too good to be true! Bummer that you guys left empty handed, but I think the candy run made up for it;). Love this look with the touch of leopard!

  19. Love your leopard print top with the jeans! Shame that the weather was bad and the sale wasn't worth your while, but Easter chocolate on special is sure to have made up for it! I had to pick up some reduced Easter chocolate on sale when we were grocery shopping the other day - I don't mind if it's egg shaped after Easter if it's 50% off haha!
