Reviewed: my name necklace monogram ring

I love the monogramming trend. Although it's hard to call it a trend, because it's been around forever and it's always been cool.

MyNameNecklace deals exclusively in custom name and monogrammed jewelry and I was delighted to add this Monogram Ring to my collection.

The sterling silver ring is delicate and elegant. The thin band is light weight and so easy to wear everyday, which is what I've done since it arrived at my doorstep.

While the site states that normal processing and shipping times range from two to three weeks, I had my ring in a little over one week. It came packaged in a nice giftable cardboard jewelry box.

One point worth noting is that the ring sizing does seem to run a bit small. Normally a size seven ring can fit on my right hand ring finger, but this one is too tight. Fortunately MyNameNeckalce offers half and quarter sizing on rings, so this would not be a problem for future orders.
Thankfully my left hand is smaller, and it fits perfectly there.

The price points for sterling silver and 18k gold plated jewelry are very reasonable, with most under $100; this ring retails for $60.

MyNameNeckalce is also offering 10% off your order for Chic on the Cheap readers; just use the code CHIC at the checkout.

Desaturated spring

I love black and white prints. Bold and striking, they can pack nearly as much punch as a bright color. Since black and white is trending this spring, here are a few of my favorites.

Totes Striped Umbrella, $15 at Target

Stopping traffic

Literally. I stepped out to the edge of the road and the cars stopped to let me jaywalk. I did it three times just to be sure, and one time it was a cop. I'm not sure if that counts less or more. Either way, this is by far the brightest, most neon, most traffic stopping blazer in existence and for once I'm grateful that I'm single, because I know if I had a boyfriend he'd be full of backhanded comments about looking I should be directing traffic or working on the side of the road.

No, I can revel in the obscene brightness of the blazer in peace.

Skinny boy

I finally found a pair of boyfriend jeans I actually like on me, though to be fair a boyfriend skinny jean is sort of contrary to point of a boyfriend jean.

The fit on Old Navy's Boyfriend skinny is slightly more relaxed, and they have distressing and whiskering, which is of course, very masculine.

For my curvy figure these are just what I need. They have the essence of a boyfriend cut, but don't make me appear dumpy. While a petite version of the jean is offered (which I meet the height qualifications for) I got the regular length. I figure I can always cuff them more if I want. They were also on sale and I had some rewards coupons so I only paid $15 for them.

Brunch

This past weekend I met up with Meg and Christine for brunch and shopping, something we are trying to make a regular occurrence, because everyone knows breakfast food is the best, fellow bloggers make awesome company, and when we shop together, leaving empty handed is a rare sight.

We braved the freezing temps and ice cold wind to take outfit photos; Christine rocked an amazing pair of leopard pumps with green pants and Meg showed off her new vintage Chanel jacket.

I decided to debut my new metallic skirt from the Narciso Rodriguez/Kohls diffusion line, and try out a style tip from the pages of Lucky Mag, layering a wristlet as part of my bracelet stack.

Haircut

I'm not really one for haircuts. It's generally all I can do to get it cut twice a year.
This time I decided to go to the Paul Mitchell school and let a student cut my hair.
Even though the process took a lot longer, since the instructor needs to check the students work, answer questions and demonstrate techniques, I actually enjoyed the experience. And I had my hair cut by a guy for the first time ever, so I cajoled him into taking an instagram photo with me. Haha.
Best $6 haircut ever.

Cross my heart

Want to know a secret? This outfit is actually this outfit, only with red jeans instead of a cream maxi skirt. It's one simple swap, but it completely revamps the look. I'm not even sure which I like better.
