After the weekend

There aren't too many perfect weekends, but this one was. It wasn't busy or complicated or over indulgent. It was just how I'd want my life to be all of the time. I woke up early and made breakfast, ran errands, took outfit photos, got coffee, and had time to just relax and enjoy Sean's company for two days without work. We roasted a chicken, baked a flourless chocolate cake, drank wine, and watched House of Cards.

I got to delight in the little things, like getting errands done, but not having to drive, or carry all the grocery bags in myself. I enjoyed the best weather we've had thus far all year, and had the biggest laugh when my brother texted me a photo of the exact same flourless chocolate I'd made - some kind of crazy sibling link that we'd both bake the same cake on the same day?

I'm happy to say that I'm starting this week feeling refreshed, and well, looking forward to next weekend! On Sunday, the 24th I'm going to be part of a fashion panel James Sanders put together for his stop at South Moon Under in Westport, CT on the Styled by James Tour. If you are in the area, I hope you can come!

  4. That does sound like a perfect weekend to me. My weekend was insanity, but it was good all the same (minus the fact that it snowed---again---everywhere seemed to get a blizzard but us so that worked out!). Good luck on the panel! That sounds like a fun opportunity!

  5. Your weekend sounds absolutely blissful! Admittedly, most of my weekends are pretty quiet but that's because Ian is always working, so I have to make my own fun - and staying in, sitting in the sunny corner of my apartment with wine and Netflix always seems like a good idea ;) I am starting the week looking forward to next weekend, too, and, admittedly, thinking about breaking out my white jeans after seeing this outfit - I love all of the textures and the subtle mix of similar shades.

I'm really liking this outfit...it has the feel of monochromatic, yet it's not exactly!! I'd say it's my kind of monochromatic!! jodie
