November Closet Additions

The internet is my best and worst enemy. When shopping could only be done by leaving the house and dedicating the better part of a day to it, I shopped far less. In addition, selecting pieces in a store and bringing them up to the register offers a feeling of finality, whereas when I shop online, I order anything and everything, always with the mentally that I'm only trying it on, that I just need to see it in person.

That said, there are only three things on this budget post which I purchased in a brick and mortar shop. One of which was the thrift store.

Sometimes I tell myself I should just stop shopping online, but I can barely help it. It's as if I've been ruined to shopping in stores. I feel overwhelmed, I get frustrated when my size is never there (pant lengths in short please!), or when the piece I'm hunting for (which of course I saw online) isn't to be found. I'm not going to say all the magic is gone, just that I really have to be in the mood. When it comes to shopping online, every mood seems to be the right one.

  4. The way you describe your experience shopping in brick and mortar stores is exactly how I feel about it. And, quite frankly, how I always felt about it. My bad shopping habits - my tendency to just grab something that caught my eye, without thinking of how I would wear it - were born of the feeling of being overwhelmed by options but totally unable to find what I really wanted, or get what I wanted in my size, in a brick and mortar store. I feel like online shopping was made for me. And though there are definitely pitfalls, I'm glad the option is available now.

  5. Nice selection!!
    Shopping online is addicting.
But it's risky too because you can't try on the cloth that you're buying. Unless it's a brand you're 100% sure will have a good fit on you.

  6. Those leopard loafers are gorgeous! And a great price too! You got some great things this month. I know it's really hard to cut down on online shopping. It's too easy sometimes. Click, click and you have tons of clothes on their way to you.

  7. I am loving that maxi dress, and what a bargain! :)

It's actually really interesting to read about the online shopping vs in store shopping - I wonder if that's the main cause of my reduced shopping? After babies I found it harder to get the fit right for things. i went into my fave store just the other week and had to take two different sizes of everything to try on. I walked out with two piecse, both different sizes! I don't have as much selection shopping in store, or time, so maybe that's why I shop less. I can't shop online as it's so hard to know my size with all the post babies changes!

Hope that you have a nice weekend ahead of you! Going to be a quiet and relaxing one here, we will be putting our Christmas tree up :)

  16. Great find and they all seem to be in the same color palette.
I have often found no joy in brick and mortar stores. BUT have found happiness in consignment.
