Back to business

Some musings on the weekend; I spent two+ hours in Target and not once even glanced at clothing, shoes or accessories. Still, I had to stop myself from buying a fur ottoman, a hexagon tray, and a funky gold lamp, and had to stick to the essentials like a trash can, shower curtain, and bath towels.

Sean told me he had two surprises for me when I came home. The first a new shower head, the second a closet rod. I could not have been happier.

The Swiffer is the dumbest invention ever. Now I need to go back to Target.

  2. Let me start this by saying Swiffers are the worst thing ever. But, antibacterial wipes are a godsend. Give anything dusty a wipe with a dry cloth, followed by an antibacterial wipe and it will be a thousand times cleaner than Swiffer could ever get it. From one apartment dweller to another - this tip is pretty much a lifesaver ;) In all seriousness, though, things will settle down and get into a new kind of normal. And in the meantime, the fact that you're still managing to find any time to be wearing skirts and heels is nothing short of impressive!

Haha, you don't like the Swifer!? I love the swiffer wet ones, so easy. (And I use the dusters too)

  9. The swiffer is lies with a handle on it. Hate that thing! Good for you. I have tried to be more home friendly when I shop lately too. Love this green and black combo!

  10. Does it make us real adults now that we are more excited about home decor than clothes at target? ;)

side note: you are looking lean girl!

  11. Ugh, yes, the Swiffer is insanely dumb! And it sounds like things are really coming along at the new place; that's great.

  14. Ha! I just laughed because you don't like your swiffer? I love ours! But it's more expensive than it should be for the replacement pads!

Congrats on the apartment coming together! You look fabulous in green :)

  15. I love emerald green with leopard! For some reason it screams fall to me. I also love how you styled the top with the pencil skirt accenting your waist and creating a longer and leaner line! I also think that necklace is to die for!

  16. Um, I kind of want a fur ottoman now. Target is just one of those stores that can become a black hole of time for me... I can happily wander through every department and fill a basket or cart with everything!

I love the color of this top. It's a great fall color and I am so ready for fall fashion, although my closet isn't. I haven't gotten out any sweaters or scarves yet!

  19. I love how the animal print looks with that green blouse! And Target is evil....I can't go there without wandering around forever and wanting everything :)

  20. Um, that lamp should definitely go back in your cart as a must-have!

I love the color of this top on you. It's gorgeous for fall without being the requisite burgundy/mustard/orange that everyone seems to insist on this time of year.

The primary difference between you and your enterprise is that there is simply no difference. You are your business, and your business enterprise happens to be you. You need to be quite clear on who you are and what your values are.

At the beginning its like that, everything you want to buy is for the new place - then you'll slowly go back to the stuff for yourself…. trust me ;)
