Patiently waiting

I hope you aren't tired of seeing all my winter coats yet, because they aren't going anywhere. We had another snow storm on Saturday, which lasted all day long, though true to spring snow form, completely vanished 24 hours later.

We just can't shake the cold, and that day, weeks ago, when it was 60° out seems like a dream. However, I'm still trying to transition, be it bare legs with my over the knee boots, (and fleece trouser socks) ankle length pants, layered up pastels, or a pair of pumps with my jeans, I'm trying.

I'm hopeful spring will arrive, though I would not be surprised if this is just one of those years when we jump from winter right into summer, skipping spring entirely.

  1. Some years, there's very little you can do to fight winter. When it's cold, it's cold and as unpleasant as it is, it's better to keep layering than to freeze while suffering through temperature denial. I do love that you're starting to wear pumps again, though, because it's like I'm getting acquainted with your wardrobe all over again. I forgot you had this beautiful leopard pair and I can't wait to see more of them over the next several months!

  2. Layering is the key o foiling this stupid weather! More snow on my car this morning, although none on the driveway so at least that's a plus!

  3. Skipping spring entirely sounds like what we're going to do too. It's a little chilly-er here than usual.Of course I'm loving it, but most folks look at me like I'm crazy. The light pattern mixing is my favorite part of this outfit. The small dots with the little bit of leopard are perfect.

  5. I am not quite as patient as you are, Lydia, in fact I am so fed up... this week including the entire Easter weekend we'll have rain, snow-rain, strong winds and very low temperatures over here in Germany. Being brave, I wore pumps and no socks today... not a wise choice!
Your camel coat is awesome and certainly a very versatile piece during this season.

  12. I hear you! I hate when we don't get to appreciate spring and fall because they pass by in a week or two. I hope it warms up soon! We still have a small patch of snow that refuses to melt by our house. It's ridiculous.
