Arrivederci primavera

Every time Cabi releases another collection, I'm convinced the pieces just keep getting better and better. The latest addition, Arrivederci is the summer collection, and the name is meant as a farewell to spring. While I'm in no way ready to bid spring arrivederci (please, half the time it still feels like winter!) I am all to eager to slip into these adorable floral print boxer shorts, which feature a comfortable shirred waist band. I decided to dress them up a bit this time, but soon enough they will be my constant companion for beach days.

November

The start of November brings with it many things; we've turned the clocks so sunsets are painfully early, halloween will be cleared out of stores at light speed and Christmas will soon be saturating every facet of our lives. (Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that sort of gets shoved the corner, marketing-wise we only treat it as a segue way to Christmas.)

The next two months will go by in a flash, and before you know it the year will be over. You are all freaking out too, right?

Seven

It may never pay my bills, grant me invitations to fashion shows, or afford me collaborations with notable designers, but this blog is so much more than I ever imagined it could be.

Each year that passes I am grateful for the people I have met, the fun events it does grant me invites to, and the amazing brands that do want to collaborate with me. In complete transparency, the little money I do earn from this blog affords me a few more sartorial purchases, and splurges, than I'd normally make.

Today marks seven years since Chic on the Cheap began. It's evolved a lot over the years, but some things have always remained the same; it gives me purpose, even during times when I feel I have none, it gives me motivation to get up and get dressed, even on days when I'd rather stay in bed, and it gives me friendships spanning the globe with everyone who takes the time to read and leave a comment.

Neon summer

There are still several things I want to do before this summer officially comes to a close. I still haven't had a proper beach day, gone to an amusement park, had a picnic, or gone on a boat. Some of these things are just popping into my head as I write this, now that the last week of August has commenced and the reality that fall will be here before I know it is sinking in.

These photos are representative of crossing a different item off the list, watching the sunset at the beach. While it was not the most spectacular showing, it was peaceful, relaxing, and just what we need sometimes between work and errands (and outfit photos).
