Something looks familiar

Breezing through day six of the Capsule Wardrobe, and day three of the Blackout, are you sure you don't want me to wear these same five items all next week too?

Day Five
Same dress, different style

This look is brought to you by Abbey, the person who gifted me both the boots and the belt. Thanks love! By the way, the belt no longer smells like fish.

I think this is my first time wearing boots in the summer, but I think these perforated suede beauties make the transition quite well. I also kind of love how everyone is making big statments with tying off or looping long belt ends, and I've actually got it buckled through one of the punches in the design and not in a proper hole.

Wearing both the boot and the scarf makes me feel super European, but lets be honest, I didn't have it draped so artfully over my shoulder while I was at work, no I had it wrapped around me like a blanket  to keep from freezing in the A/C.

Day Six (because five would have been too easy)
Raining

I like that I made it all the way to day six before bringing out my fifth item, this brown wrap top. I'd have to say that were it not for the challenge and my need to make this dress look as different as possible that I would never have paired the two; and I quite like them together.

You will, however, be seeing this top again tomorrow. I wanted to keep everything evenly spaced out, but I messed up, so the top is going on two consecutive days. I doubt anyone at work will say anything.

  2. I love the second outfit! The wrap sweater looks very pretty with the dress; it looks warm for when the office cranks up the AC in the summer...

  4. I really like the way you styled the second look! I would have never thought to wear the top over a dress that way, but it looks awesome!

  10. Okay, so you look fabulous in both outfits. But you must wear more wrap styles! It flatters your figure so nicely!

  11. I love that your outfit made you feel european. I do that sometimes and then I realize that I'm not lucky enough to be in Europe (most likely sitting at my desk at work, ew).

  22. So cute! I'm in love with what you did with the first dress, you always find such amazing ways to restyle your things, whether it be a simple belt or a scarf. It always looks different! I am inspired all the time. I like how you put that wrap over your patterned diamond-y dress, too!

&& oooh, a winged lion. That's a wonderful choice, I do must say. ;D A flying fierce fluffy ferocious feline. Fu fu fu.

Okay, so I need your opinion. :) I saw this cute cute red/orange dress at Kohls today(http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/womens/dresses/viewalldresses/PRD~633307/ELLE+Floral+Smocked+Dress.jsp) and it fit perfect and I am deeply considering it. I just wonder what I would wear it with! In the winter I have a variety of tights (red, black, green, white, anything!) but in the summer, do you have any ideas of how I could spice it up? I think I'm gonna get it tomorrow, I just over-think things too much when it comes to money, haha!

  23. Oh gosh, this dress and the draping of the scarf very chic (and European). You definitely brought home some inspiration.

  24. Yes, that scarf draped over that way looks very European, I agree! I also understand how certain work places crank their AC up WAY too much!! Is that supposed to be a median of everybody's comfortable temperature?

  25. You look absolutely gorgeous on day six, sweetie. Stunning styling. I'm loving how you've done your belt. Must try that out.
Hehe have you read Something Borrowed (is it good?)? Did you not imagine Kate Hudson in that role?
Yeah Lily's 'Not Fair' song was exactly what I had in mind when first reading her quote...if this is what she calls 'real things' then good on her, I guess. Haha.
