Linen Jumpsuit

Once again I'm sharing a piece at quite a delay; I snagged this jumpsuit back in May and initially purchased it in the petite, but felt the torso was too short so I exchanged it for a regular with the intention of hemming it.  Needless to say I found myself mid-August with a thin layer of dust on my sewing machine and decided the length was just fine.

Also making an appearance is the raffia belt from Mango. The only size in stock when I placed my order was large, which I decided was acceptable as I would have the option to wear it lower than my natural waist with jeans, however the issue of the extra length of belt flopping around arose. The cheapest and easiest solution to the problem was a clear hair elastic. They also work great if you've got a long adjustable strap on a bag which refuses to lay flat.

This summer feels like it's just been flying by, and as usual, I'm digging my heels in and choosing to enjoy the rest of it, rather than prematurely starting fall.

  7. That is a beautiful summer jumpsuit and I really like the straw belt with it! :) I used to do the elastic band trick a lot with belts - haven't in a while but only because I don't wear belts much any more!

Hope that you are having a lovely weekend! We are enjoying summer-like weather despite it being winter, it's so nice!

  9. Oh I am loving this all neutral look! And what a good idea about the belt I always have this problem. And the belt is too cute. I was gifted a similar one when my stepfamily was visiting from Paris.

  10. I just got a belt like this, but it also has a very long piece, and I wasn't so sure what to do with it, but now you've given me a tip with the clear hair elastic. How clever! Love how this outfit turned out.

  11. You may not have worn this jumpsuit immediately after buying it, but personally, I think it was worth the wait. I was looking for something similar for our trip to Greece and never did find it - I actually tried this one on in store, but had the same problems with the torso (which never happens for me because I am extremely short-waisted) so I left it behind. Now that I'm seeing it on you, I'm questionning whether it was the right choice. Especially since I have a very similar cage bag and raffia belt that would look just perfect with it... Suffice it to say, I love how you put this look together ;)
