August Budget

It's hard to want to buy fall things when it still feels like summer, and summer is on sale. I did get one transitional piece, so hopefully it will get more wear this year. The blue and white toile pieces from H&M I was obsessed with having will probably not be as fortunate.

The end of August feels so devastating. I can't ignore that chill in the morning air or stop my mind from piling up the regrets of everything I didn't do this summer. I know I still have three more weeks, but I'm still going into Labor Day weekend with that pit in my stomach; that as far as everyone else is concerned, it's time to pull out the sweaters and the pumpkin spice.

  2. Love the fringe bag! Mango has been churning out some great pieces in the last few seasons. Glad it's making a comeback!

  3. I am loving that long kimono! What a great piece, and I can't help thinking how nice it would look with the knit dress! :) I'm always eager to start buying for the season ahead, but I guess I can do that when Asos, shopbop etc have the summer stuff reduced and it's coming into spring here ;) Online shopping has a lot to answer for, ha!

I bought a LOT of spring and summer stuff this month as I'm excited about warmer weather, but it has also been a mild winter for us so that's probably why the summery pieces are getting a lot of wear for me right now.

Hope that you have a nice weekend ahead of you :) We have a party at the park today - should be fun!

  5. Your bodysuit and matching skirt are so pretty! It's hard for me to balance taking advantage of end of season sales while buying for the season ahead too! I end up overbuying every time!

  6. Such pretty pieces to round up the last full month of summer! (As much as I'm not ready for actual cool temps, I'm pretty jazzed for days without humidity!)

  12. August is such a weird time for my wardrobe! I usually end of switching over to fall purchases and wearing my summer clothes I purchased months ago until is cools down. Transitional pieces like the knit dress would be great for me to add to my August wardrobe though!

  13. I'm right there with you- as much as I love fall (well, early fall), it gives me that, "omg, winter is coming" feeling- which is the WORST. Winter is so miserable, haha.

Your picks are so cute- um, those toile pieces are awesome!

  15. I did a Vintage Thrift Flip Sewing Challenge! For this thrift flip I went to @PaperDollVin. I purchased a 1970's prairie dress for the sewing challenge, and sewed the 1970's classic that into an outfit I'd actually wear. What do you think? https://youtu.be/gW-PHGhCbV4

  17. Your selection is quite hard to resist. Besides houndstooth, toile is one of my fave prints, oddly enough I have nothing in that print.
