Still in my winter uniform

There has been a lot of melting since these photos were taken nearly two weeks ago, but it still feels a lot like winter, even with the official arrival of spring later this week.

The past few weeks I've had very busy weekends, but when I awoke to a rainy and grey Saturday, I decided to spend the majority of it lounging around the house, catching up on magazines, blogging, and reading. It's great to be busy and have an active social life, but sometimes it's equally as nice to just relax at home.

We've now passed the half way mark of the month and I haven't shopped yet, nor have I felt the need to. It's been great. I'm a little sad that Piperlime is closing at the end of the month and I will not be taking advantage of their going out of business sales, but I'm just avoiding going to the site and tempting myself. I'm quite certain that the key to not shopping is to stop putting myself into situations where I'm going to want to.

  1. That's some serious snow behind you! It warmed up a bit this weekend and we're hitting high 60s today, yay!! I stopped shopping in January and I made my first purchase last week for my birthday. I have yet to visit Piperlime's sale and I think I may skip going there now as well. :)

  2. I love this cozy, classic look--those jeans are PERFECTION on you. I'm so impressed that they're Old Navy; I need to give their jeans a try again. Also, I agree, sometimes a day spent in catching up is the best.

  4. Loving this outfit!!
And yes, I should just resist going to the site too. The less I spend now, the more money I'll have for my trip, haha.
Although I was bad this weekend and bought 2 things, but one was $5 and the other $18, hardly breaking the bank - but still! XD

  10. I had no idea Piperlime as going out of business…
and I hear ya, I have been trying to avoid the mall, well, because I know me.
I went to pick up a present for a little girl and ended up buying stuff for myself from Zara. Well, at least they were on sale.

  14. Once the weather warms up and your snow is really melting you will want to shop. That's what has happened to me. Our snow finally all melted this weekend and I am ready to put away the boots and coats and get out the slip ons and light coats - no flip flops yet.

  22. I too am on a shopping freeze until May. Definitely there is a lot of will power going into me not checking out "sales" on various sites. You can do this!

  23. You haven't shopped at all this month? Well done! I can hardly say the same, but considering that I spend almost all year saving for my time in Paris, I'm not bothering to feel guilty about it... But I will be avoiding shopping for the next little while. Because I have lots of new things to wear to keep me busy :)

Love this coat and scarf combination on you, the colours suit you beautifully!
