Fall floral

I like fall florals, so I chose this blazer from OASAP. Once again I didn't manage to get the sizing right, and it's a bit big, so I paired it with this oversized shift dress - do two larges make a small?

We've really reached the point where bare legs are no longer acceptable. As much as I wish it weren't true, it's mid November here in Connecticut, weather reports are already starting to predict snow and I need to get out the tights.

I have a question for you: what is the current feeling on nude tights? Fashionable or faux pas? How about nude fishnets? Better or trashier? Should I just play it safe and stick with black?

  1. What a fun blazer for fall! Nude tights are classic and never go out of style. Nude fishnets might just create weird patterns on your legs!

  4. Now if you ask Kate Middleton about nude tights or in her case "pantyhose" she'll tell you heck yea! Maybe not in those words exactly. For me, nude tights are a no no. I mean really who do they work for other than Kate or Beyonce on stage in her nude fishnets. My opinion of course.

I do love that blazer it looks great with the shift dress. You may be able to do sheer black tights with this outfit but the bare legs are my top choice. :)

  5. Oooh! I love the print of that blazer!!!
And Kate Middleton wears nude tights, so I think they're okay ;) Not sure I would do fishnets. But I'll probably stick to black, navy, maroon and my mauve pair, ha ha. Although in Spring I might break out nude (I did for Easter last year)

  6. I probably wouldn't do nude fishnets, but pantyhose would be okay. My guess is that you would make the nude fishnets work though! Great blazer too!

  7. Oooh, what a great blazer! I usually stick with black tights myself but I think nude is acceptable...I'd steer clear of the nude fishnets though.

  9. What a pretty floral print! I think nude tights are fine, but I think the fishnets would be a bit much. I personally wear a lot black tights in the winter.

  10. I've wondered the same thing with nude tights--I heard they were out, but what happens when you are tired of looking like you're wearing tights?!

I love this look Lydia! I think the new blazer is great!

  11. Don't know if two larges make a small but you've managed to make them work so perfectly together! I'm with you on the fall florals, they are so cute and that blazer is no exception! About the nude tights, I used to be against them but last year my sister bought the cutest ones, they are kind of sparkly and very light and they actually look super nice, so that totally made me change my mind!

  12. I prefer not to wear nude tights, but a lot of my friends do and as long as they're not too orange-y I think they're perfectly all right ^^ Besides, they make it easy to wear your summer dresses a little longer without feeling to much of the cold :)

I'm loving your outfit today! A floral blazer must be fun to have to combine with plain dresses / tops. I wish I was brave enough to wear patterned jackets, but I'm afraid that they won't work well with what's already in my closet :) xo

  13. I think it totally works.... the jacket is really pretty.
I just heard on the news that its snowing in NYC so it means it's not getting any better for you.
In regards to the tights, i'd go with the black.

  17. i love this floral blazer! i actually just ordered it too. :)

and as for nude tights, i generally prefer something like a sheer black or brown instead. nude kinda weirds me out, but maybe it's just me?

  22. I don't know if two larges make a small, per se, but this shift and blazer do work wonderfully together. And as for tights, I'm all for nude ones... maybe it's just all the time I've lived in Europe that influences my habits, but I really only ever go fully barelegged in June, July and August. Otherwise, it's always nude tights. They do provide a bit of warmth and with the right pair, they can look relatively natural.

  26. It flurried on my way to school. I think I read that celebrities when nude fishnets when performing to make their legs look flawless.

  27. You know, I love the idea of nude tights (nylons?), but I've never found a pair that didn't just scream early-90s to me. I feel like Kate Middleton needs to give up her sources because she's the only person I've ever felt has been able to pull it off!

Though if you find some nice ones, please let me know!!

  28. good for you still toughing it out tightless :) i can't handle that myself once the temperature falls below 60.
that jacket looks like a good fit to me! i like that it's a little bit slouchy :)

  32. When it's cold, bare legs are not an option. Some outfits just suit the look of a bare leg better So, nude tights are sometimes the better choice. Nobody seems to have anything against them where I'm from :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Nude as in sheer? Or opaque like the generic color "nude"? I don't know if I'd be game for either of those options. Nude fishnets sound fun, though.
LOVE the print on the blazer.

  34. I LOVE the floral blazer! I wanted to get one during the spring but never did. I think it looks great with the shift dress - I wouldn't have guessed it's too big! And I don't care what anyone else says - I love sheer nude tights! I wear them all the time when the weather gets cooler. Heck, sometimes I even wear them in the summer! If you find the right shade I think they even out skin tone and just make my legs feel tighter and more firm. I love it! So wear those nude tights! I would even wear nude fishnets if I was going for more texture in an outfit.

I love the dress as well and the fact that you say the sizing it too big, its not noticeable at all.
