No good next to diamonds

This weekend, the long over due, much talked about closet clean out happened. Only because Meg agreed to come over and spend her Saturday helping me, so to her I am very grateful - it would not have been possible without her.

I didn't count the number of things we took out, but more than 100 does not sound like an exaggeration. Unfortunately, my beast of a closet looks no different. The dream of "swish room" has never before seemed so out of reach. But on the plus side, that rubbermaid bin of winter clothes which has been festering at the back of my closet for three years has been dealt with.

My love of clothes and my desire to collect them despite my lack of space to store them means I will forever be in this position, and I will just have to make peace with that idea.

By the way, do you like my new diamond print pants?

  1. Those pants are really cool!
Ahh, the buying and cleaning are just part of a fashionista's seasonal clothing cycle. I did a mini purge recently and am actually happy to get rid of a few things (though I can't part with a college sweatshirt or two!)

  2. Those pants are so cool! And it sounds like you got a lot of cleaning done (even if it doesn't feel like enough). Bet it feels nice to have that bin of clothes dealt with at the very least.

  7. Great outfit as always. I must admit, I don't really know what those wardrobe clear outs are like as I've never done it myself.. I guess I am that minimalistic. :)

  12. Fab pants. They are one-of-a-kind. We just moved and I had to donate quite a few items of clothing. Unfortunately, instead of limited space, which is a problem for me as well, they are simply too small :O(

  13. As someone with swish room in their closet, let me say this - it has both perks and downfalls. As much as it's nice knowing what I have and being able to regularly wear almost all of my pieces, the times when I find myself thinking that I'm stuck putting together outfits that aren't as great as they could be because I'm missing the perfect pieces - which I might well have if my wardrobe were larger. As a great example, I can tell you that I have one pair of printed pants... and I love them, but just one print is not enough to keep things interesting. You need to change things up sometimes, like by adding diamonds. Seriously. These pants are amazing :)

  16. Gorgeous printed trousers and I love the classy combination.

Fortunately I have quite a lot of space in my basement and store opposite season's clothes down there which does help a lot!

  18. I need to go through my closet again. There are things I haven't worn in years, but just can't bring myself to get rid of. At the very least, I should pack them away. It's just such a big project!

Those pants are freaking adorable. I'm imagining them with sandals and a loose pj-esque shirt in the summer. (Summer? Come back soon!)
