On my own

My wireless shutter remote for my camera hadn't been working very well all year. I felt like such an idiot, standing there pressing the button with no photo being taken, so for the past several months I've had family members helping me out and being my photographer most of the time.

It finally occurred to me that in the last three years, I've never replaced the battery in the remote. I ordered a new one, and of course, it's working perfectly now.

Only now I've gotten so accustomed to having a photographer, it's not as easy to be on my own again.

  4. haha, oh, batteries... how we forget they exist... I'm glad you got that problem sorted out. Better a year than never!

That skirt is always so darling and classy as heck. And with your cherry heels? Oh, I swoons!

&& right? You think they'd want you to buy it if it was on the mannequin. I'm definitely drawn to things I can see with shape on some kind of a body. I know that Forever 21 doesn't like you to undress their mannequins and that they take them down a certain time every week, for example, which I think is lame... how hard is it to stick another skirt that matches on it? Ah, silly silly!

  7. Doh! My camera has been getting cleaned so I haven't photographed my photos since we got back from vacation. Now my backlog is out! But I am always a bit rusty getting back in the swing of self photography when I go for a while not doing it.

I love this skirt! I have the same one!

  8. Love that skirt Lydia! It's so pretty! I bet you're spoiled now. It's so much easier when you have your own photographer. My advice is to KEEP CALM AND DON'T TELL THEM! Shhh! LOL

  11. The skirt is so pretty and fun. It reminds me a little of the red and white lollies you get for Christmas. Very fitting since you are always a piece of eyecandy your self! ;)

  16. Haha!Been there, always first idea- gosh, broken! But then just realize battery. But if you think, thanks God it's just battery. I can't imagine how you get so wonderful photos of yourself being photographer as well.Ok, there is remote control, but still composition and sharpness.Well done! I love this feminine, ladylike look.Especially I love your striped skirts and they have pockets.I think every dress and skirts should have pockets.Your shoes are too cute.

  29. I'm afraid my remote battery is dying too!! I've had a few moments where I've had to press the button several times and I feel like people are staring at me! haha

I find this color stripe so lovely on you! I have a similar blue striped skirt, but I love the red color so much more! I think maybe because I don't have that much red in my wardrobe to begin with!

  33. I have deep admiation for anyone who takes their own photos... I`m lucky that my husband used to work as a photographer and had experience taking photos/was used to fussy subjects like me before I started my blog. And honestly, I never would have guessed these photos were taken with a remote instead of by someone behind the camera. You are good! And stylish... seriously, that skirt is summer perfection. If we lived closer, I would so be stealing it right out of your closet.

  35. Haha, remotes make for silly stories. I have a few friends and a boyfriend that help me take my photos, but I didn't want to bother them all the time anymore so I decided to buy a remote. I forgot to check which remotes work for my camera when I went into the store and bought one. Now I have a remote that doesn't even work for me because I have no infra signal, haha! I'm a genius, I know!

Hey, love the outfit! That skirt is super cute ^^ xo

  36. Haha that's a good reminder for me to check the battery in my remote! Every now and then it plays up...

Such a nice striped skirt, and your shoes are so fun with it :)

  39. that's so funny! glad you got that fixed for this adorable outfit. I've never taken my own photos but maybe I should... would certainly minimize some of my issues with finding an available photographer during good daylight/no rain.
