We were told that rentals go fast, so if we saw one we liked, to make a move. We looked at exactly one apartment. The fact that everything in it is brand new; new kitchen, new bathroom, new floors, fresh paint, was what sold me.
Now I'm faced with the reality that I need to sift through decades worth of things I've accumulated and decide what is worthy of being a part of the new (small) apartment. Downsizing from a walk-in closet that I've already out grown is not going to be fun.
In our attempts to do this move on the cheap, we spent yesterday driving around chasing down furniture on Craig's List (browsing the furniture section is my new favorite way to kill an hour) and I'm hoping to finally give my grandmother's old mahogany furniture a new life with some paint. Everything I see on Pinterest is so amazing... hopefully I won't end up on the 'Nailed-it' board.
