As you wish

The other week I got to spend Saturday evening at the drive-in movie theater with Meg. Neither of us had ever been to a drive-in movie before and when I found out my favorite movie, "The Princess Bride" was going to be showing, I asked Meg if she wanted to go, knowing it is one of her favorites as well.

We had to get there really early to be sure we got a good spot, but there was obviously a lot of time to kill before sundown and the start of the movie, so we took outfit photos and then walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

Because we've both seen the movie more times than we can count, it was hard not to start saying all our favorite lines, even if we sometimes got them a little wrong. Fortunately at the drive-in, you don't have to worry about bothering any other movie goers by doing that.

I could probably go on and on about the magic and wonder that is "The Princess Bride", but if you've seen it, then you know, and if you haven't, I don't know what you are waiting for!

The drive-in was a lot of fun, I'm so glad I got to go this summer!

  1. HAH! I almost called my post As You Wish too, but decided to go with my usual song title as the title...although I could have gone with the one from the movie, maybe I'll change it ;) "Storybook Love"

  2. I've never been to a drive in - which is a bit ridiculous since I grew up on the prairires in prime drive-in country. But I jump at any chance to see The Princess Bride played live, since it's my favourite movie, too! I love the shots of your cardigan from the back, the boating scene seems to come to life somehow and it's wonderful :)

  4. I LOVE that movie! My boyfriend doesn't get it so I rarely watch it now. I think it would be so fun to get to see in it in a drive-in. I am almost positive there is one close to where I live, I should check it out.

  25. I hope you didn't run into any rodents of unusual size! ;) Hehehee, from the title I thought, "Man, I hope this has something to do with the Princess Bride..." so I was glad that it totally lived up to my expectations. One of my favorite movies EVER. You've got good taste, lady.

Your accessories here are so fun. I really love that necklace and bracelet.

  26. Ughhhh this cardigan! Love!

I haven't been to a drive-in in forever. They are fun though. I guess the New York equivalent would be movies in the park!

  28. What a perfect movie to see at a drive in! I love that movie too. When I first moved to LA my husband was working on a movie with Cary Elwes and I got to meet him!! I don't really care about meeting actors but this time I was like "OMG I JUST MET WESTLEY!!" Good news is he is a genuinely nice person which can't be said for a lot of actors!
Anyway...LOVE that necklace and of course the white capris!
