Fall classics

The plaid shirt is out. I think this has to be one of my most worn button down shirts. The colors are perfect, it's short enough to wear untucked without looking sloppy, and thin enough to be easily layered under sweaters. For a J.Crew Factory purchase I think I paid more than I would have liked to at the time, but I know I've spent far more on pieces I've worn much less. I'm checking out this season's offerings to see if my new favorite might be there (and generally shopping way too much, again).

  2. Finding the perfect plaid top can be hard but once you find it, it gets so much wear! They are such versatile pieces! Love the way you layered yours!

  3. The plaid shirt certainly does signify the presence of fall! Love this casual look!

  4. It looks great with that fabulous long, slouchy cardigan.
I feel like all trends are valid right now, which is kinda good but then I am confused.

  5. I've never been a big plaid shirt person, which probably makes me a bad Canadian, but I do feel strongly that not all plaids are created equal, and when it comes to plaid shirts, this is one of the most perfect ones I've ever seen - the pattern is subtle while still being perfectly plaid, the colours all work together without overwhelming the white, and most importantly, it matches your gorgeous red Coach bag which remains one of my absolute favourite things in your wardrobe, season after season.

  6. PS: So glad to see you're still wearing your Yoga Jeans, I just had mine on yesterday!

  7. Amazing fall look! Your flannel shirt is such a good fit for you. I struggle finding one that fits me well.

  8. Plaid + the fall go together like PB&J. :) Love the cardigan over the top!

  10. I love layering plaid with sweaters! This look is too cute!

  11. I still don't own a plaid shirt, haha. But I don't think it would get worn as much as other pieces in my closet, so probably a good thing.

  12. Plaid is just the best thing, all year round, season after season after season. Or so it is in my books, anyway :)

  13. The plaid button down is the fall fail-proof. Love how you styled it, very sleek with skinnies!

  16. love this! I am just getting in to plaid shirts and have a new one from Madewell, you've inspired me to wear it tomorrow me thinks! You look great (as always!) the heels really dress the shirt up!XX

  17. This is such a perfect fall look. I think that's a great plaid shirt, and if you're going to spend a little more on a shirt I think one like that is definitely worth it--it's a classic!
