Cropped it

Every so often I will get it in my head that I need to reinvent a piece in my closet, and while I loved this white eyelet top, I felt the length didn't quite work for me. In light of the current crop top trend, I decided to chop off a few inches and transform it into a crop top, while preserving the bottom scalloped lace.

I'm pleased with my results, and could not resist doubling up on eyelet lace by pairing it with these navy shorts!

  1. Double eyelet is so fun. I like this length of top on you. Glad you kept the scalloped hem.

  4. I love your dedication to your wardrobe. If a top doesn't fit the way that I want it to, it's finds its way to the charity bag and is gone before I know it - I walk by the donation bin on our neighbourhood almost every day, so there's no excuse. It would never cross my mind to reinvent something to make it work for me, the way you did with top - but I love that you did it and I absolutely love the results. (I only wish rewardstyle worked for Forever21 Canada - but it's probably better that I don't rush out to buy something similar, even if it is a bargain price.) Not to mention that eyelet on eyelet really couldn't be any prettier.

  5. Love the restyling of it! It is definitely more flattering on you as a crop top! What talent you have to see that in a top and then be able to alter it!

  9. I love that you kept this top and decided to revamp it! A lot of times if my old clothes are ill-fitting I just donate or sell them! I love that you were able to take away some length and it looks beautiful. I love that you did an eyelet design in the top and bottom and put them together, they work so well!

  30. My vote is for the redo! I love it cropped. It's not so cropped that is super trendy and you won't be able to keep it, but it's just enough that it looks completely classy and timeless. I see many beach weekends in this top's future.

  31. Well, that was simply a perfect transformation. I always like seeing how people see potential in items--like making skirts shorter, sleeved tops into sleeveless ones, etc. Your necklace and bracelet combo is lovely as well!

  32. You did an amazing job ! It looks really good because its cropped BUT not really really short.
And I really liked how you mixed these two together.
