Better and better

Welcome to 2015! I'm happy to say that I had a wonderful New Year's Eve. I decided to go to Sean's restaurant and took my sister with me. We had an amazing meal and Sean got off just before midnight, so we had a few minutes on the dance floor together before the big countdown. Much more fun than falling asleep on the couch - though that is not to say I haven't enjoyed all my low-key New Year's Eves of the past.

My resolution for last year was to ask for what I want. There were definitely a few instances when I thought about that and acted in what I felt was best for me. It is something I need to carry on doing this year, and throughout life.

Resolutions that I know I will never follow through on are silly, but realistically, I do need to clean out that overstuffed closet of mine again! The turquoise sequined dress will be the first thing to go - I'd forgotten I was supposed to have the straps shortened two inches and have it hemmed, so I couldn't wear it last night, and I'm certain now that I never will.

Happy New Year!

  1. Sounds like you had a great time! We were at home with the kids and didn't even do a countdown! I think next year it would be fun to do a countdown in line with Paris or something so that the kids can get the New Years Eve experience ;)

  2. I was wondering if you got to wear that NYE dress! I would say it had its chance, and it's time for it to go! So glad you decided to go out last night (though a night on the couch isn't so bad either haha.) Happy new year!

  9. Happy New Year! I'm glad you decided to take the leap and go to Sean's restaurant for the evening, especially since your sister was able to go along with you - what a perfect way to start 2015. I hope that this year, as your sweatshirt says, will be la creme de la creme :)

  14. Happy New Year! That sounds like a fun NYE out. We've stayed in the past few years but one of these days we just need to get a babysitter and go out on the town again for New Years. (Not that I did a lot of that pre-kid anyway, but still...) Anyway, I love this mix of striped, structured shirt + cute cozy sweatshirt.
