thredUP summer style challenge

Since discovering thredUP last summer, it has been an endless source of affordable secondhand fashion, and browsing their pages is an easy way to lose an hour. New items are added seemingly every minute, and often snatched up just as quickly.

Not just a place to shop, thredUP works on your consignments. Just request a bag, fill it up, and send it in. For anyone who gets stressed out over taking their items to the consignment store (I always feel like they are judging me) thredUP is an ideal solution.

All the pieces on the site are in great condition, and can be discounted up to 90% off retail. The lowest discount I've seen is 50%, but that is extremely rare, most pieces are about 75% off.

Last month thredUP invited me to participate in their $100 summer style challenge, and I gleefully accepted. The first item that caught my eye was a pair of Kate Spade heels. Since I was quite certain that spending all my money on one item would be failing the challenge, I moved on to this silk floral skirt by Odille, aka Anthropologie, and I decided I wanted to put together a complete outfit around it. I quickly found a grey Style Mint tee for under $10, and eventually these leather and linen Tahari heels popped up in my size. They were the most expensive item I got, at $32.

Since I couldn't find a handbag to fit my remaining budget, and I really don't need another pair of designer sunglasses, I abandoned my single outfit mission and scooped up this adorable black and white Tarte dress, which you will see tomorrow.

  28. This look! I was smitten when I saw the sneak peek on instagram but it is even better when you're wearing it. I love every piece - and the fact that most of them came in under $100 (and you managed to get another dress, too) is nothing short of miraculous. Last I checked, thredUp didn't ship to Canada but I am definitely taking another look to see if that's changed because I've clearly been missing out!

  41. I could just steal this entire outfit from you. I love the citrus burst from that skirt against the simplicity of a cozy tee. Sometimes I forget that simpler outfits with a T-shirt and skirt are super effective.

Hope you have a great rest of the week, my sweet! :D
