The chevron

This dress was purchased before summer even officially began, and it took me until summer was all but over to finally wear it.

The problem, was that I deemed it special. A secondhand find, this silk Calypso St. Barth dress was only $20! I had visions of a weekend in Cape Cod, or a blogger brunch or some sort of event worthy of it's inaugural wear, and it never happened.

When faced with the idea that it might not get worn at all, I resolved to take to Boston, so here we are on Newbury street, where I surprisingly did no shopping, although I'm presently regretting not buying another vintage Coach bag I had spotted at Second Time Around.

  2. I label some items as "special" as well, which basically translates into me putting off wearing them, waiting for an occasion. I'm glad you wore this one eventually though because it's really striking on you.

  3. I do that all the time with clothes that I buy. I label it "special" and then it never gets worn. I have a gorgeous chevron hi-lo dress that I bought last summer and I still have yet to wear it! Now it won't fit :(

  6. I've definitely been guilty of saving clothes for "a special occasion" that never actually comes along... you are not alone. And I can see why you would have wanted to hold onto this dress, it's an absolute beauty (I can't believe it was only $20) but I'm glad you took it out before the end of summer. It deserves to be shown off!
