Fall Closet Refresh for Less

Thank you BJ’s Wholesale Club for sponsoring this post.

Even as the most devoted summer lover, I know it can't last forever, and inevitably the pull of the new fall fashions will have me craving leather jackets and dark neutrals.

Feeling compelled to buy a new wardrobe each season is probably one of my bigger downfalls, but one I can always justify by finding the best deals. Deals which are sometimes in places I would least expect, like BJ's Wholesale Club, my new one-stop shopping destination for fall apparel. Normally I love shopping there to fill my cart with discounted Lindt chocolate bars, massive bags of Bark Thins, and jars of chocolate covered almonds (clearly I have my priorities when it comes to bulk shopping). However when I went into the apparel section of my local BJ's, I found myself giving a second glance to the amazing prices, quality, and brand names I have always known and liked.

For me, the number one fall accessory is a leather jacket. I know I probably have too many at this point, but what is one more? Especially when it's only $25. Naturally this is a vegan option, but I loved all the detailing, especially the knit panels which will come in handy when layering over a thick sweater. For now, I snagged this perfect little black dress by Kenneth Cole Reaction for $17, which is over 75% off the MSRP. This dress is just the kind of piece I love to have when I don't know what to wear - it's not fussy, can be easily dressed up or down, and has pockets. While I was at BJ’s, I poured through the piles of denim and trousers - lots of legging styles, tons of sizes, I even noted some of the jeans were offered in short and tall inseams.

Additionally, there were accessories options such as shoes and purses. When I spotted this charging wallet for $11 I knew it was coming home with me. No matter how much they improve phone technology, there always seems to be a struggle to get through a day of travel without my phone's battery hovering around 10%, plus the slim shape and practicality of a wallet made this a must have. Having a fully charged phone meant I could text my mom and see if she if needed any groceries. Being able to pick up organic milk, cage free eggs, baby spinach, and a huge hunk of pecorino romano meant saving my mom a trip to the grocery store so that we'd have time to watch a movie together - and devour all that chocolate I mentioned earlier.

Finally I headed to the shoes, with the thought that my favorite black flats might be nearing the end of their lives, I tried on these black loafers by Jones New York the moment I spotted them. They have a nice padded insole, and easily proved worthy of a day of walking. At only $25 I could consider grabbing them in the cognac color as well.

Before I left to head home, I used the opportunity to fill up my gas tank, as BJ's members can save from 10 to 20 cents a gallon on gas. I also checked out the Hallmark cards, which are discounted a dollar off their list price and found Halloween cards for my nephew and niece. With discounts like these, and so many more, my membership can easily save me up to $500 a year on things I'd need to buy anyway.

I had such a successful shopping trip at BJ's because of the unbeatable value and assortment of apparel, from outerwear and accessories to footwear. I'm really excited about my new fall clothes, and I still feel really impressed with the total on my receipt - even considering everything else I bought. Because I don't want to keep these savings all to myself, anyone who decides to sign up for a BJ's membership using my referral link here will get a $25 gift card!

  1. I always see the clothes section at BJs but never think to look there! Maybe I'll have to do that next time I get my chocolate chips ;)

  2. You do make bulk shopping sound very tempting! I'll be honest and say that the only similar store we have in Canada is Costco, which is probably for the best since I don't need any encouragement to buy a whole new fall wardrobe - the temptation is already so strong, and reading blogs, seeing how cute everyone looks in their new fall outfits does not help at all ;)

  4. I absolutely love those loafers - they were a great find (and a great price). I need to pair of loafers to my closet for the fall --- although I woke up this morning to snow everywhere here so it might actually be time to get out the winter boots.

  5. I don't think I've ever heard of BJ's Wholesale! But it definitely sounds like an awesome place to shop and dangerous haha! Discounted Lindt's chocolate, I don't think I would be able to resist. I also can't believe you found $25 leather jacket!!

  7. I’ve never been to a BJ’s but I’m assuming it’s similar to Costco on the west coast? Either way, I love that jacket! The charging wallet is really nice too and obviously a bonus in that it charges your phone! Always need one of those ;)

  12. I've never seen a charging wallet before--that is so smart! I love your other finds too and what fantastic prices! We don't have BJs here, I'm guessing it's similar to Sam's or Costco?
