Floaty Floral

I hope all the mommas had a good Mother's Day yesterday! My mom and I kept it pretty low-key this year, since I was her only child to spend it with her, we actually cooked something for the blog! Not sure when I'm going to get the post up, but I'm working on it. Other than that, we went to pick out some flowers for the garden, and watched a movie. The weather took a nosedive over the weekend and was unrelentingly cold and grey. Thankfully on Friday after work (while it was still warm and sunny out), I met up with Courtney at Lyman Orchards and we took outfit photos among the rows of blooming apple tress. I'm not sure when I will get them up on the blog, as I'm happy to say I've got a backlog of photos for the first time since probably last summer. That is always a good place to be, hopefully I can keep it up!

This is an outfit that I wore to work with a cardigan on. I was going to photograph the cardigan too, but it turned out to be such a gorgeous afternoon, I was happier leaving it in the car.

  1. Sounds like you had a really nice Mother's Day (it's always nice when things like that can be a little low key) - and it must be nice to have weather so nice you no longer need a cardigan.

  2. Aren't those the best days of spring? The ones where you wear a cardigan in the morning but don't need it by the afternoon? That's my absolute favourite kind of weather. I love that this outfit is suitable for your office - we just recently moved to being allowed to wear jeans, but blazers and collared shirts are still mostly expected with them. Thank goodness I work from home, I really don't miss that corporate wardrobe...!

It's so nice that the weather has gotten warmer...I don't mind layering, but it's nice when I don't have to!

  7. That weekend sounds wonderful! Also, this outfit is spring perfect and I am waiting ACTUAL spring to come back to Kansas instead of summer heat!

  8. I love that pretty floral cami! And that sounds like a fun day cooking with your mom, I love to do that too! We've had some hot weather lately, so I've also been wearing a cardigan in the office but taking it off when I'm outside.

  9. It can be difficult to find a great cherry blossom tree, but you did it. Love the backdrop for these photos and your cute flats.

  15. It is always good to have a backlog of photos. I have a ton but some outfits are definitely more Wintery so I can save them for next year lol. Your Mother's day with your mom sounds great, cannot wait to read your post and post about my special Mother's day too. =)

Love this outfit. I happen to love olive green with light pink and those pants against the blush pink trees look great! That bag is adorable, too.

  17. This sounds like such a lovely day with your mom- my mom and I always go flower shopping, too! We both loooove to get the gardens ready for spring + summer, and Mother's Day is the offical "it's okay to plant" weekend, since freezes are less likely. :)
