Hold your breath

This weekend we got a taste of winter at it's coldest, temperatures barely lingering above the teens during the day time, and below zero in the evening. I nearly didn't take any outfit photos at all, but I decided to grin and bear it on Valentine's Day, while also trying to refrain from exhaling while the shutter clicked to avoid the mist of my frozen breath around my face.

I know my outfit might seem sub-par for the weather conditions, but I have on tights and socks and a slip under the skirt, along with a thermal under my sweater. Not that I was overly warm, but I was only dying a little.

The only redeeming factor of the frigid weekend was the unwavering sun, that could almost trick you into believing that it was warmer than it was.

  1. Haha, thank goodness for tights and socks or you would have died! I went out on Saturday and had leggings on under my pants to keep warm XD Sunday I was under a blanket all day

  2. I remember the one charm of extremely cold days being the sunshine. The colder it is in winter, the prettier it is - it almost seems cruel. But then, so doe the fact that cold weather generally limits your outfit choices to pants, pants and pants. I love how extremely you layered to make this outfit happen, because as far as I'm concerned, it was totally worth it; the pink maxi couldn't look lovelier against the snowy, sunny background and it looks like it was made to be paired with fur!

  8. This is a perfect example of how you can look fabulous & still layer (without anyone knowing)! Heck...you could have 3 thermals under that sweater & two pairs of tights, and it'd still look the same!! Beautiful Lydia! jodie

  11. I hate tricky sun like that! And I feel like that is the only kind of sun we get in Wisconsin until approximately May. But you look stunning! That skirt is so pretty with your layers!
