Silk blazer

As I have confessed before, I find Joie to be one of those brands I continually gravitate to. While I may not presently be in a financial situation where I'm comfortable paying list prices for any of their pieces, should one appear in a secondhand shop, there is seldom an occasion when I can pass it up.

This silk blazer was picked up a few months ago when Coco's on the Green was having a half off sale and for just under $30, even in a size too small, I wasn't about to let it go. It doesn't even seem to small, given the boyfriend style of the cut, I just don't have a ton of mobility in my arms and I'm not about to go layering it over a sweater.

Unsurprisingly, I love wearing joggers to work. I could have just as easily slipped into a different pair of black pants, but nothing feels more like wearing pajamas than a knit jogger. I was even planning on taking this look out to dinner with a friend (hence the fancy clutch) but those plans never did come to fruition.

  3. Beautiful garment, never heard of the brand. I've had to pass up several jacket and trenches because of the arm movement… last year in Poland I tried on the most amazing trench in a thrift store, it was made in Sweden, the fabric and the CUT were outstanding. I can still remember how it fit, I looked really good (modest me) but when I tried to lift my arms it was impossible. I thought about buying it and losing weight… but then I just put it back. My arms need all the movement they can get.

  10. Love the blazer! What a great find! And it definitely doesn't look too small. I've always wanted to try Joie but I don't want to pay full price either and I'm just not good at finding things in thrift stores!

  16. Silk! Now that's definitely a material I can get behind. My only worry is snagging in the wash because I'm lazy and can't be trusted with handwashing tags...

  21. Some day, I really need to come to Connecticut so that we can go thrifting together - the pieces you manage to find, particularly at Coco's, never cease to amaze me. Who cares if this blazer is technically a size too small? No one ever sees the tag and it looks perfect on you, especially paired with loose joggers. Since I work from home and can actually wear pyjamas to do my job, I have yet to invest n a pair, but I really do need to get on that at some point.
