Epic Fail

I made it 17 days into my 24 day shopping ban before my self restraint went out the window and I shopped. Big time.

I have a history of never finding anything I like in NY&Co. so when my Mom said she wanted to stop in there, I though, "It's fine, there's never anything good there, so there wont be any temptation." Only I was wrong - there were tons of cute things, and even worse, the entire store was half off!

Try as I might, I couldn't help myself, I started picking things up, I looked in mirrors, I even tried things on, hoping that they would fit horribly and I could simply walk out empty handed.

I didn't.

The only person I have let down is myself, and perhaps I will find some greater will power and try again. For now, here's what I got:

Military style denim jacket in a dark wash $30 (was $60)

Striped mini skirt $16.50 (was $33)

Pinstriped romper $21 (was $42)

Braided cinch belt $11 (was $22)

Straw Fedora $7.50 (was 15)

Grand total: $86

Darn you, half off sale.

ps. I hope everyone enjoyed my April Fools Day post!!!
(yes, I was kidding about the crocs!)

  15. I like the title of this post, haha. Sometimes I think I should do a shopping ban, but I don't think I'd be too successful.

  17. How COULD YOU! And to think, I was going along with you this WHOLE TIME, and you just abandoned me.. haha, I kid, I kid. I actually bought something three days into it. Two dresses, some belts, some tights, yee haw, haha.

That jacket is so cute on you, plus the romper makes you look fabulous!! :D It's okay to buy things every now and then especially when they're good quality at good prices.

  21. that is the way it always seems to go - when you have the cash and are in need of something you can never find anything, when you have no cash and are not supposed to be shopping you find something you desperately want!

  32. how tough!! maybe extend the ban one more day so this one just won't count? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  33. OMG I'm so happy that was an April Fools.. I wasn't quite sure how to respond! Also no one can resist 50% off (if they can they're just not normal) so I totally understand! (this might be why my shopping bans never last more than a couple days... oops) :)

  34. those pieces are really pretty! it is super hard to hold to a shopping ban (i well know, which is why i haven't been trying) and sometimes it makes you want to splurge!
