Leopard fur coat

Back in the heat of September when I was hastily packing up my apartment and trying to decide which of my clothes were going into storage, along with all my furniture, I had to significantly pare down my outerwear collection. Admittedly, it dominated the whole of our shared coat closet. (I am always rationalizing that winter is long, and variety is key to beating my winter style doldrums.) I know being without them for one winter isn't the end of the world, but still, I'm missing them.

Of course my leopard fur coat was not going into storage - it's classic and warm, it was one of those pieces where I tried it on in the store, left without it, and drove back a day later when I couldn't stop thinking about it.

I'm not entirely sure what my rational was when I boxed up 90% of my winter accessories, hats, scarfs, gloves, ect. for the storage unit, so when I spotted these rust colored leather gloves on clearance at TJMaxx, I tossed them in my cart. Aside from my current infatuation with the rust orange shade, I thought it would be nice to have gloves in shade other than black. While the leather is soft, it's nowhere near as supple as the leather on my Glove.ly pair, nor are they lined with cashmere, but for $14, I can't complain too much!

  1. I, too, often rationalise that winter is long, so I needa variety of coats to keep me interested in getting dressed. Unfortunately, in reality, I tend to reach for the same two or three of them over and over again, largely ignoring the rest, so clearly I need to rethink this for myself. On the other hand, I always think you do a beautiful job of getting all of, or as many of, your coats out during the winter as you can. I love seeing this one pop up again, it's such a beauty and it really does look like it was meant to be worn with those rust coloured gloves, which are so lovely that I can easily forgive them for not being lined with cashmere ;)

  4. That coat is so fun, yet so classic, and I do love the rust color of the gloves. My winter wear is in such a sad state--it's like I'm in denial every year that I will get sick of my coat and gloves since I wear them all the time. I need some variety!!

  5. We're on the same page when it comes to the rust color. I like that shade in clothing and accessories, like your gloves. Glad you didn't box up this leopard print coat.

  10. You know I am all in for that jacket. I love it sooooo much. And I like its pairing with coloured gloves (seeing these is making me think how strange it is that I only have black gloves, especially since I wear gloves for like 5 months of the year at least).

  13. When we moved and I had to put the majority of my stuff in storage, it was like pulling teeth! I was like, "NO I NEED IT ALL!!!" I feel your pain. Love that leopard coat. Every year I say I don't need one, and then I see people wear them and then I want one!

  16. Those gloves are beautiful! Glad you could get something to keep you cosy while everything else is boxed up! I box up all my winter pieces at the end of the season, it's fun unboxing them when it gets cold again, like Christmas! You'll enjoy pulling everything out of storage again soon too I'm sure :)

Hope that you are having a good week so far! I've returned to work this week which was a bit of a shock after a month off over Christmas, ha!

  17. Leopard print is definitely one of my favorite prints, and it does look good on coats and jackets, like the one you're wearing dear. Looks fab with the OTK booties too! So chic!

  20. That leopard coat is giving me life! So adorable! It can be hard when trying to figure out what is packed away in storage, I can totally agree! I'm always curious how others do it because I always feel like I put into storage things that I wind up needing before they are out! Ha! Happy weekend love! I adore reading your posts!
