Keep it simple

Sometimes I forget it is often the simplest outfits that work the best. This one was brought upon simply due to the fact that is was freezing cold out. I mean, really, bitter cold. The furry cowl was pretty much the starting point; the possibly cashmere (but who the hell knows because there are absolutely no tags) thrifted sweater was next to it in the drawer and looked good. Heavy denim, boots with thick socks, my new mustard clutch for a pop of color, and one perfect Sunday outfit comes to life in just under five minutes (not counting the prior 45 minutes I spent on Pinterest searching for 'winter style' and getting frustrated).

  4. Oh i love this outfit! and I love the concept of your blog, I'm a new follower!
Perhaps you have some time to check out my little blog too! I'm also not spending very much money on fashion - I think desinger things are not better than "normal" brands, and it must be possible to dress stylish for all events with a "normal" budget!

  5. Purple and blue are a wonderful idea. Now on to my closet to look for something purple, something blue! BTW, I agree that sometimes we lost sight of how the simplest thing is the funnest. Your outfit is casual but warm and classy and the clutch and nail polish add air of sophistication to it. stay warm x

  14. Love that scarf. I have something similar, but I won't wear it b/c I look so overwhelmed by it. I think it's b/c my hair is only a little past my chin. Your long hair balances it beautifully. :)

  16. My outfits are usually very simple with a hint of something different. I like to stick with the basics, but I always make the basics my own. I think you look great in this outfit.

  28. haha outfit frustration is the worst! I hate those days when you spend like an hour in your closet and nothing works. Awful.

But this is, of course, not awful. You look so sophisticated and I just love that furry cowl-- it looks so waaarm!
