Things in real life

Another photo in the rain. And dark, it was sooo dark!

dont much care for rain

The Rundown
Skirt Desigual - Top TJMaxx - Jacket TJMaxx - Booties Steve Madden - Earrings Market in Italy

I'm beginning to worry about what I am going to do about outfit photos once it's dark at 6 pm when I get home from work. Last winter, I just didn't take any. But ever since March 16th I've been taking them every day (okay, I might have missed a few) and I don't really want to stop.

But I hate taking photos inside. And on camera flash is so unflattering! Morning photos...? I'm not usually that organized, and it's so much harder to get up when it's cold! What to do??

I'm really proud of this outfit, in the respect that I thought it up while drifting off to sleep last night, and when I put it on this morning, the reality matched my imagination. I know we've all had those outfits that seem like a great idea in our minds but just don't translate into reality. It's refreshing to see that they do work sometimes.

Something I've been thinking about today....

I spotted this over at Uber Chic for Cheap a few weeks ago.
I wish I were brave enough to make some changes, take some chances and you know, live.
Hope this will inspire someone.

  1. Morning photos for the win. Just suffer through getting up about 5 or so min earlier, then edit and post when you get home! But you can't stop the daily outfit photos because I'll miss them :)

  8. Hehe I've done that on more than one occasion - thought of a brilliant outfit in my head, and in reality...not so brilliant. But congrats on this one, that's a real feat!
Very inspiring words. As good as it is to read them, though, implementing them into your life is slightly more difficult...

  9. Lovely outfit.
What about taking your camera with you and taking the photos on your lunch break [get a friend to help]

  10. I took photos indoors last winter, after work. I am also trying to figure out what to do. I suppose I could always venture out during my lunch hour, since there is a fairly nice conservatory on the island near my workplace, but I don't want to trudge through the snow to get there all the time.
Nor do I want to take photos at work.

Let me know what you figure out, and I'll let you know what I figure out, LOL :)

  12. I guess morning is the way to go. I am not a morning person so I feel your pain. I'm so lazy though, that I will take 3 indoor photos in 5 mins (it shows) instead of making a real effort!

I'm not sure what to do about outfit posts come darker days and colder weather either... :(

  14. Thank you for the insight! I think I needed that. Life is short. You have to go after what's important.

  17. I have a hard time with morning photos too, so I try to plan my outfit beforehand and then have it laid out and ready to go

  18. You have a lovely imagination AND dress! :) Yeah... I'm getting a little worried about taking photos when it gets dark and cold, too. I work from home, so I can always take my shots in the morning, but still, going out in the cold makes me lazy :-/

  20. your boots are so pretty!!

and i would say morning pictures would probably be the best, but if youre not organized then you could try it inside and just dont turn the flash on...you still might not get the right color though...soooo i have no solution :)

  24. haha yes - I was facing those issues, had to take pics inside with artificial light (no flash) and it's frustrating that you can't see details very clearly.. I hope you find a good alternative!

  33. Ooh! I love that dress, the whole outfit, those shoes are lovely too! Morning photos... maybe? I'd always feel too groggy to do it in the morning too! I agree that outside is so much better. We don't always have luck with that here either.

  34. Great when an outfit comes together so well. It's no fun shooting pictures in the dark. I had to find a couple of spots where the light is best inside or I shot them before going to work.

  35. I'm glad you were able to make the outfit you imagined look just as fabulous in real life, I honestly thought it was a dress :)
