Needless to say, I did not succeed in running away from anything, except maybe winter, though Los Angeles still proved to be wet and grey, just 20° warmer. I applied to a handful of jobs in LA, I heard back from none. Blog growth crept along as slowly as it always has, though it was delightful to be able to photograph spring outfits in January without risking hypothermia. Perhaps I came home too soon - to a snow storm in early March - or perhaps it was foolish to think that going to California would change anything. I packed all my problems up with me, no wonder my luggage was overweight.
The remainder of the year was spent trying, or intending to try, and do things differently. I still need to do a lot of work, I still need to find the strength to make changes, to work through my fears, and discover where I can find happiness. I hope this year I can get a little bit closer.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure 2020 will be your year! I have some work to do myself this year, probably finding more clients because current work is a little slow so I'm going to have to face my fears of putting myself out there.

I fully believe you'll get a lot closer to your goals in 2020 - identifying things is often the hardest part of starting to get there and it seems like you've fully engaged with all that, which is empowering (even if it might not always feel like it is).

That wrap knit looks so cosy, what a fun piece! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your 2019 didn't go as planned but I hope you smash your goals in 2020! I find jobs so tricky, we spend so much of our time there it can really impact us if things aren't going as smoothly as we would like! I'm back to work this week although I really would have enjoyed more time off!
Thanks for joining the #weekdaywearlinkup :)

ReplyDeleteI cannot say much as I am trying to also find my way. I walk miles to realize I am in the same spot. I say I will change things and take a stand, but here I am.
