Friday Five Under $50

Can you tell my mind has ventured to spring? Not that it's my fault, since all the spring things are out now, taunting, tempting. All the while I'm firmly planted in winter. I know there is beauty to be had even on the grey days, but mostly I just wish I could hibernate for the next few weeks, at least until that first sign of green appears.

Last summer I was chomping at the bit to get on board the round woven bag trend, and decided it was worth a little splurge. Naturally this year the market has exploded with the bags and can now be found in more colors, and in many cases for half the price as they were last summer. The black one really caught my eye, and if I'd held off buying one, it would be under heavy consideration right now.

Also I've noticed Target has been doing great things in their shoe department. While I mostly avoid shopping there because their shoes do not get high marks for comfort from me, it's hard not to look and see all the cute footwear. These lavender flats feel like an amalgamation of five different trends, but in the best way possible.

  1. I caved and bought a rattan bag last year, too. But as it turned out, I really loved it - so much so that I continued to carry it into the fall, long after it was seasonally appropriate. So even though I have one already, I'd still consider the black one, because, well, there's no doubt I'd use it, especially a black version. I, too, am longing for spring and have been for months already. It's almost always sunny here, which is deceiving, because it makes me think that means it must be nice outside... and then I actually step outside and face reality. Even so, I think I've only made one seasonally appropriate purchase this month :P

  2. Ooooh, I love those Target shoes (I miss Target so much...seriously).

  4. Those lavender flats are fabulous! I love the color and style!

  5. I really wish Target shoes were more comfortable because they have been killing it lately! I actually just ordered a pair from Target so we'll see if they are actually wearable. They were just too cute!

  6. I haven't had luck with Target shoes, but those slingbacks are cute :)

  7. Great picks! I think we are all ready for warmer temps. Great picks! That round bag is so cute!

  8. Target shoes are hit or miss for me, comfort wise, and the trouble is that sometimes they seem comfortable at first and then I learn too late that they rub my feet or pinch my toes. That lavender pair is so pretty though!

  9. Great picks dear. That Target Lavender Sling Back Flats is one of the cutest I've seen in a while.

  10. That black bag is a beauty. I did not cave. I did not buy one. Yet... I've been venturing into second hand shops hoping one will turn up for a few bucks ;)
