Friday Five Under $50

I live my life like I'm one purchase away from everything changing. "These are the shoes that will make my blog go viral."  "This is the dress I'll get engaged in."  "This is the blazer I'll land that job in." I know that isn't how things work, but somehow that flawed logic always pushes its way through and helps me to rationalize all kinds of purchases. Half way through the month and I think it's time to put my credit card on ice, as I've been rationalizing all over the place. While the lines between need and want always become a little blurry, sometimes it can be just as satisfying to be an enabler, so here, this is me enabling you to do some weekend shopping:

Gap Crochet Halter Dress, $40
J.Crew Destination Silk Scarf, $35
Etsy Gold Tassel Earrings, $21 (seller in CT!)
Madewell Shorts, $40
Steve Madden Grace Slide Sandal, $50

  1. I laughed out loud at the "maybe these shoes will make my blog go viral" because we have ALL THOUGHT THAT!

  3. That's such an interesting way of summing up problematic shopping. I'm not sure that I shop the same way anymore, but I'm still constantly falling in love with garments that are totally unnecessary to my work-from-home and occasionally go out to a restaurant or coffee shop lifestyle. But then again, I can't think of too many times I've really wished I had the money back - I just feel a bit stupid when I clean out my closet.

  5. The sandals are superb.
Oh, thankfully I don't think like that as I really, REALLY do not need to find yet another excuse to shop.

  7. Oh I love that silk scarf! This would make a cute outfit too...

I find it's too easy to justify purchases sometimes! Although I'm doing well so far on month 7 of what was supposed to just be a 6 month no shop, I'm finding it harder to ignore those convenient excuses that pop into my head when I stumble across things, ha!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend :)
