Tortoise Aviators

I accept all gifts graciously and with deep gratitude.

Eyewear is one of my favorite accessories, there are so many shapes and styles to flatter and hide behind. I was delighted when invited me to try out a pair of glasses from their house collection. Aviators feel like one of the tricker shapes when it comes to my face, and so they might not want to be a pair I'd order online, however I felt confident in doing so after using's virtual try on feature, and they fact that they have a no hassle free return policy makes it completely worry free.

When I was in high school there was one class where I was assigned a seat in the back and had trouble reading the board. I got my eyes checked and came home with the ugliest pair of glasses, which my parents spent upwards of $300 on. I wore them for that class and that class alone, and haven't gotten my eyes checked since. I know I can't live in denial of not needing glasses forever, though it's amazing how much the internet has changed the landscape of prescription lenses. Companies like offer frames including perscription lenses for as little as $48, which is simply remarkable, and makes the idea of addressing my myopia a little less intimidating; for my wallet anyway.

  1. I love how you wore winter white.. so cute and love a good cable knit sweater. xxo

  2. Hey L, love that last picture with the hat !
The same thing happened to me, I had my eyes checked in the 7th or 8th grade and opted for a pair of light blue rim glasses. I hated them. I wore them briefly and then I discarded them. For some reason I have never had to get a replacement pair. Maybe its because I would sit in the first seat in class :)

  3. I think these aviators look great on you! I never really knew I had an issue with my sight until I got my eyes checked as an adult just for the heck of it. When my glasses came in and I put them on, I was blown away by the difference! It is definitely nice to be able to order various pairs for a low cost online now--that is for sure!

  4. I do think glasses are way more fun nowadays, Lydia---just in case you do need them at some point! My thinking is that they can hide the bags under my eyes too!!
It's only lately that I've been loving the fun sunglasses too (since I'm not inside all day anymore working--ha ha)
I like the aviators on everyone I've seen them on---I should try them out!

  5. Love the gray mixed with the white! And yes, looove sunglasses! Fortunately I don't need glasses yet, but with all the time I Spend on the computer it's only a matter of time

  6. Oh my goodness, you haven't had your eyes checked since high school? I'm pretty sure I've had weak eyesight all my life, but remember distinctly the day in fifth grade when I looked up from my seat at the back of the class to realize I couldn't see a thing written on the board. Within the week, I had my first pair of glasses - which, funnily enough, would be very on trend again now, but which I still remember as hideous. The world was suddenly a whole lot clearer, and my vision has sadly continued to deteriorate ever since, with the progression only finally starting to slow down in my 30s. So glasses are very much a part of my life, but as someone with seriously bad vision, a lot of the online prescription services aren't quite up to the challenge of making glasses that really work for me (and I have tried so many of them.) But I am a sucker for a good pair of sunglasses and these aviators are fabulous. I actually lost my aviators this summer and have been meaning to replace them, so I'll have to check out GlassesUSA.

  7. I think they look really great on you - that shape never really seems to work well for me either but they look so nice on you!

  8. Love this grey and white ensemble, so pretty. Loving those aviators on you too! I feel like I am always hoping for my eyesight to weaken so I can get a cool pair of glasses, after all they are just another fun accessory! ;)

    xx, Elise

  9. The whole look from head to toe literally is great!

    Life is just Rosie

  10. Prescription sunglasses are so amazing to have, but can definitely be hard on the wallet. I love the idea of finding a few fun frames for less!
