Your capital letters keep me asking for more

LAST NIGHT I went to New York City with my sister to see Phoenix at Madison Square Garden. We've been fans of the Parisian indie band for quite sometime and this was the first opportunity we've had to see them.
While Phoenix might not be big enough to demand a weeknight more important than Wednesday, the venue was still quite packed, and they did not disappoint. At all.
The trip, the late night and my day at work on three hours of sleep was completely worth it.

Whenever I'm in NYC I always see women in these sky high heels. I admire them, but I can not be them. I went for my booties with the 1" wedge. And a small cross body bag, because I like to be hands free when navigating (which I am awful at) or to be able to easily grab my camera.

The sky was brilliant and purple, and of course we passed through Times Square on the way to Madison Square Garden.

Even though we were in the nosebleeds, we were at least in the front row of them, haha.

We also showed up at 7:15, because we thought we needed to be early for some reason. Clearly no one else thought this.

Of course I would love to gush about every song they played; I won the impromptu bet with the people sitting next to us about what song they would open with, Liztomanaia; they preformed my favorite song, If I Ever Feel Better during the encore and Daft Punk magically appeared on the stage and played with them, which then bled into Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, and they finished with an amazing mix of 1901.

I'm not going to put up the youtube videos, okay!
(they aren't very good anyway, but I've already watched half a dozen.)

Off to see Phoenix

fortune

This fortune made me laugh.

P.S. I passed by Banana Republic and saw they had signs for 40% off already reduced items (aka my favorite sign in the world) - but I was strong and didn't buy anything!

  6. I work 2 blocks from MSG...and I was probably still at work when you got out of the concert!

I have given up on heels after them slowing me down and missing the subway...and realizing how ridiculous women look when they hobble down the subway stairs, making everyone behind them held up. At this point it just enrages me - learn how to walk well in them or don't wear them at all! Grr.

I agree on the heels thing in New York. I don't know how some girls do it. I'm all about comfort!

  11. Ooh, I love Phoenix but I have yet to see them live! They played at Lollapalooza this year, which I usually go to, but I had a wedding that weekend (Rad was in it, so you may have seen related posts over at TCC).

I am so terrible at concert dressing - I go for practical, which never seems to look good. But I just love what you put together! It looks comfy and cute.

  20. I've never been to NYC so I am highly jealous! It sounds like a great night, and you looked lovely too. I just can't walk around a big city in heels - I only really wear them for short walks or if I'm going to be in a car - so I totally understand!

  24. Oh, I love Phoenix!!! Glad you got to see them :D Haha that fortune made me laugh, too. It was like forcing you to realize what you are by posing a challenge. Isn't a fortune enough to just make you feel good and not pushing you off your butt to do something? lol.
