Layered

Sometimes I'm so caught up in shopping for new things that I forget about some old things in my closet that are still pretty fabulous, like this satin brushstroke top. It's sleeveless, but with a few extra layers, perfectly wearable.

I know I really need to focus more on shopping my own closet, it is the trendy, budget conscientious thing to do after all.

P.S. Time is running out to enter the Shabby Apple $50 gift card giveaway!

  1. It can be hard to shop your own closet when there are so many cute things all the time. I should do the same as you, though. I haven't been shopping in a month and I'm kind of proud of myself! I guess that's a good and bad thing. :)

But I love how you're wearing your quilted vest with all those colorful layers underneath. That vest was such a good piece to buy!

  4. There you go with those awesome velvet leggings again! I love them. Layering a sleaveless top under a vest and button down was a great idea.

  6. I really like the layering and colors in this outfit.

It's hard to shop your own closet sometimes, but once I cleaned and re-organized mine, I felt a renewed love of the clothes I already own. Pinterest helps too :) Heather

  8. I know but why is it so difficult !?
When I buy new things i put them in another closet so i remember they exist - which i think is the reason i sometimes forget to look in the other closet.

  23. I love seeing how you're wearing this quilted leather vest, it looks so cool and earthy-edgey with the olive green top! It's always fun to find tops that you forget about at the back of the closet, I just found a few that I'd completely forgotten!

  28. I totally know what you mean about forgetting what you have. My husband pokes fun at me for that. I have to say that I agree with him and you on it! It makes me feel badly for forgetting that I should be wearing what I have!

  30. I like that you just get a peek of the pattern so it doesn't distract from all the other cool stuff going on. The high neck of the brushstroke top looks so good.

Please just go away with that dress.

Also, I got an apartment. Moving in on Feb. 15th, thankfully it's after fashion week.

  31. I love the way you're working the layers here. Is there anything better on mild winter days than a quilted, sleeveless vest?

  32. Now this is how you do layers. So chic with texture, rich tones and printed detail. Suite!
