Summer reprise

Last Friday it was warm enough for me to pretend it was summer again. (Not that my last few posts have looked much like Fall - it's the backlog - it has indeed been chilly here.)

This white eyelet skirt that is quite old, hasn't been worn since 2010, and was hovering by the donate pile; but instead I attempted to revamp it by cutting off the old waistband and doing a shirred one instead. I'm not sure that even with the new look I've fallen back in love with it; but I'll at least hold on to it until next summer.

That skirt is a keeper! It's so beautiful. Love the way you styled it. I understand what you're talking about. It's been in the 80's here. Have a great weekend!

I really like the skirt. It looks nice and breezy/cool for the hot summer days. Adding your striped shirt gives it the nautical feel. Heather

I know what you mean with those pieces that you just really want to make work--no matter what, you still find something "wrong" with it or it just doesn't seem right, yeah? But I do like how you transformed your skirt. :) And the nautical theme works so well it. Flaunt that sailor belt, girl!

Every time you wear that belt, I want to have it.
I actually have a list written down in pencil by my computer at work of things that I need to search for and buy...

That skirt is beautiful! Definitely worth holding onto, it works well with the belt and you can just switch around the belts you wear it with :)

I like it maybe to revamp it again you can make it into a dress by adding extra material. You could find a blouse that could be added to the seams too. Since the skirt is too pretty to be tossed next summer. Love the accessories you paired with it!! :)

This skirt is really really pretty, definitely a keep for at least one more summer.

It's 37 degrees here this morning. I can't even go outside right now.

wow, I love how you re-vamped the older skirt! Is this what they call an Indian Summer? Either way, nice to see you enjoying it before the cold actually sets in!
