Hold the phone

Friday, at long last, with a pretty good weekend outlook. While my living room currently looks like the entire holiday section of Target exploded all over it (anyone else smitten with their Sugar Paper line?) hopefully the mess will resolve itself into a pile of neatly wrapped gifts before Sunday sneaks up on me again.

I can't seem to wrap my mind around the idea that after this weekend there will only be ONE weekend left before Christmas!

Silver sandals

For me, the one thing that signifies the start of the summer is the very first pedicure I get. Not one to be seen running around town in rubber flip-flops, having a chic leather pair is a summer essential. KicksUSA was kind enough to send me this pair of silver braided leather sandals by UGG.

I adore the chic metallic strap and felt like there could be no better nail polish than Essie's 'No Place Like Chrome' to compliment my shiny new sandals.

Never miss a chance to save with Shopular

If there is one thing I like to be certain of when I shop, it's that I'm getting the best possible deal. When it comes to shopping online, it's easy to quickly search for a coupon code before placing my order, but what about when I'm shopping in a store? Even when I do receive mailers from my frequently shopped favorites, I never remember what the sale dates are, or to bring the coupons with me.

Now with the effortlessly simple app Shopular, I never have to worry about that again. Shopular is linked up with hundreds of stores and has a constantly updated database of all the active coupons, as well as the weekly flyers and deals. By allowing the app to use my location, it will even send me a push notification of a deal when I enter a store.

One I downloaded Shopular, I added all the places I love to shop to my favorites list - everything from Banana Republic to Starbucks, and then I could view a feed of all the active coupons.

I went into Kohl's but forgot my mailer - no problem - I opened Shopular and had a coupon with barcode that could be scanned at the register.

Did you know that Starbucks was offering a BOGO deal on their Chai Tea Lattés? I did, because Shopular let me know!

The app is a free download, so why not give it a try? You've got nothing to lose and only savings to gain!

The tortoise and the leopard

Tortoise has quickly become my most recent obsession. I pined after the J.Crew tortoise flower necklace for quite sometime before deciding to turn to ebay.

After a bad experience buying jewelry from ebay direct from China (it had lead paint) I always set my parameters to search North America only. This necklace was listed as being J.Crew, however when it arrived it was clear to me that it was a knock off. The clasp and J.Crew charm are cheap and wrong. However, I only paid $22 and otherwise it looks quite nice. Plus, the J.Crew necklace was $138, so that wasn't going to happen. After I bought it, I discovered many of the discount online jewelry shops have their own version, like this identical one at Ily Couture for $38.

Tech at hand

Ever since I got my first iPhone nearly five years ago I've grown more and more attached to it. Fueled partly by a Fear of Missing Out (thanks Jewish Girl for sharing the link) having the phone close at hand has become a necessity. This was always particularly challenging for evening wear, so few clutches can accommodate the phone along with they myriad of other things I need.

JavoEdge's clever phone pouch is a hybrid clutch and wallet, with slots for credit cards, a zippered compartment, and of course, space for your phone. I can be carried as a wristlet, converted to a crossbody, or used as a wallet.

Now if only it could charge the phone too.
