Electing leopard

I have little desire to discuss what a tumultuous election season it's been, but no matter your political views or ambivalence, you should still go and vote today, because it's a right not afforded to everyone and should not be taken for granted.

Seeing as we are now fully into November, it's time I start recognizing that winter is here, and as much as it pains me to delve into unwieldy layers and confusing bootie wearing rules, (I tried here, I cuffed my jeans, but I guess I still didn't execute it properly) I know it will be even more painful to suffer through the day being perpetually cold.

So I will pack away my sandals, pull out my outerwear, and begin the season of grin and bear.

Print in a monochrome

Cold weather often causes me to slip into my monochromatic dressing ways, though I always try to keep plenty of visual interest with details like textured bags, glitter booties, and printed scarfs.

This semi-metallic zebra print scarf from Fraas plays well with my neutral pallet while still livening things up a bit, and of course, keeps me warm!

The fleece dress I simply had to have finally arrived, and while it's very fleecy and cozy on the inside, it does have a completely unnecessary exposed zipper in the back, which is not covered on the inside, so it's cold on your skin - a definite drawback to what is otherwise a comfortable dress.

Spring

It actually felt like spring for a little bit over the weekend. Mid-afternoon, in the sun, when the wind wasn't blowing; it was gorgeous.

It is the perfect weather for the lightweight scarf, and Fraas, the German scarf company was kind enough to provide a sample from their new line, Mystical Coast. The pastel watercolor print is easy to mix into my spring wardrobe and is perfect for this transitional weather.

I even dared to bare a little leg. It's not much, but it's a start.

P.S. I would be so grateful if you'd vote for me to be the Wallis Blogger Ambassador!
