Walking buddy

This summer I'm going to focus more on getting fit. I might say that every summer, but at least I don't say it in January when I know there isn't even the slightest chance of it happening.

Because I am so often motivated by fashion, having cute workout clothes is important, and so is not having to spend $80 on them, because I'd always rather buy new shoes...

Thankfully RBX Active has a line of workout gear that is completely under $30! Tops, bottoms, bras, even shoes and really cute sunglasses.  The digital cammo workout capri pants they sent me come in four colors and offer a four way stretch allowing for plenty of moment and comfort.

NYFW Storefront brunch

My second fashion week event was a champagne brunch hosted by Storefront X RePopRoom. The combination pop-up shop brunch featured six designers, including Marrin Costello, who I recently collaborated with and who invited Meg and I to the event.

We got to meet Marrin (along with five other designers), get a preview of her new collection, and sample food made by chef Jordan Andino, all of which was outstanding.

Lemon

For someone who once gave fruit print a big ol' eye roll, I will admit to spending the better part of my summer obsessing over it, first the with pineapples, and now with the lemons.

Last month I won a giveaway through Lookmazing, and the prize was meant to be a leaf print crop top, but they no longer had it in my size, and I wasn't too keen on some of the other leafy tops, so I chose lemons (and leaves) on this skort.

This is the first item I've ever owned from Topshop, and I must say I'm impressed with the quality. I've heard Topshop being likened to Forever 21 in the past, but this skort is definitely a step up. The material is thick, lays well, and my biggest concern of them being too short was unfounded.

I typically hold out a bit longer before breaking out my denim, but after a few chilly nights, these jeans by Max Jeans felt like the perfect choice.

They are incredibly soft and very stretchy, and since I missed out on the grey denim last year, I was very happy to see these in 'limestone grey', which works now while I'm still embracing summer, and will be an equally good base for more autumnal shades when the time comes.

For sizing, I am wearing the four, though according to the size chart I would be an eight, and yes I did hem these about three inches, as I'm only 5'2" and I did not care for how they looked when cuffed.

Finding stylish, yet comfortable denim can be quite a challenge, but this pair gets my approval.

Don't forget to accessorize

Today I've joined up with Megan to present a mini look book showcasing pieces from Marrin Costello, an LA based jewelry designer.

While Meg certainly isn't a stranger on my blog, this the first time we've done a collaboration like this and I'm really excited to share it with you! Marrin's pieces are delicate, feminine, and edgy. For the first look, I'm styling the gold Saratoga bracelet, an equestrian piece that looks great on it's own, but can easily be layered up (as I so often do). Meg is wearing the gold Helix necklace, which makes a striking contrast against her recently acquired and adorable Jason Wu dress.

For the second look, I have on the Baby Bowser bracelet, gold spike beads pointing every which way are the perfect tough-but-feminine accessory to my asymmetrical LBD. Continuing with the spikes, Meg has the silver clustered Stellar ring, along with the coordinating Midi rings. And yes, I did intentionally match my shoes to Megan's skirt!
