Toasted Marshmallow

I've had a bit of an obsession with velvet this winter - not that my closet really needed more - but Banana Republic was tempting me with the most gorgeous pieces, and once I tried them on, I was sold. Unlike some of my older velvet pieces, which seem to be glorified lint traps, Banana Republic's velvet is uncannily soft, plush, and slightly iridescent. I had the hardest time deciding on just one color of this long line blazer, the deep cherry red was so tempting, but since I've been embracing all shades of brown these days, the camel colored 'toasted marshmallow' won out. Admittedly, I always wait too long to share things, and many sizes of this blazer have already sold out. However, if your size is available and you can take advantage of the sale price, you likely wont regret the purchase.

  2. You know how obsessed with velvet I am! Such a great piece! (Oddly enough I've never really had a lint problem with any of my velvet pieces, haha)

  6. That is such a beautiful blazer I can see why it's selling out! It's a lovely shade! :) I only have a velvet belt - I think the fabric would be too warm here in clothing but I do love the look of a velvet blazer every time I see someone wearing one! :)

Hope that your week is starting well :)

  8. What a fantastic name for the color of that blazer. And you really got creative with the color pairings here as well. I adore the deep purple-brown of your blouse - and the gorgeous gold touches with your accessories! Such a beautiful outfit from head to toe.

  9. What a gorgeous, sumptuous blazer! I love velvet too, but I sadly don't have much of it in my closet. Banana does blazers so well, and this one is no exception!

  16. Every time I see someone wearing velvet, I swoon. But then, every time I actually go into a store and try on something velvet, I feel like I am my twelve-year-old self again, putting on a bodysuit for a gymnastics competition. The late nineties absolute ruined velvet for me personally. I doubt seriously if I will ever be able to work it into my wardrobe again. But I love seeing other wear it well and while I my be biased by my love of all shades of brown, I really don't think you could have done the styling of this look any better.

The name of the color of this blazer is so cool - it's a really marvelous garment and i can see what you mean by iridescent, it has a hidden glow to it.
