Holiday Style with Tobi

December is arriving appropriately on a weekend, and starting in full force with events. Party on Friday night, wedding on Saturday, the handful of remaining weekends set to fill up, and let's not forget New Years!

While I could argue the merits of taking just one little black dress from soirée to shindig, there is always that little desire to exploit the holiday affairs and add some fun new pieces to my closet.

Today I'm collaborating with Tobi, the online fast fashion realtor where endless, party-ready, wallet friendly styles can be found. While I try not to make fast fashion a habit, there are certainly occasions when it can be a lot of fun.

First up is this wine colored lace skater dress. It would be perfect for an evening cocktail affair. It has a very open back, and partly unlined front. I thought I might be able to layer cami under it, but it was not going to happen, hence the jacket. I love the color, the shape, and the pretty lace, but I would not recommend this dress to anyone who isn't comfortable going sans bra. For size reference I'm wearing a large.

There is nothing quite like a little black dress for any occasion, though I do feel like this one would be great for going from office to office party. Again, I love a long sleeve on a dress, somehow bare legs are infinitely more tolerable when I've got long sleeves. Small details like the tulip hemline make this piece stand out from the other sheaths. For size reference I'm wearing a large.

Scandalous. That is all I have to say about these split leg pants, and it's worth noting that the slit goes all the way up to the top. I felt like they would be great for NYE paired with a sequined top as well. For size reference I'm wearing a medium, and I had to hem them about three inches so my 5'-2" frame wasn't dragging them behind me.

  1. Oh it's a tough choice but I think that last outfit with those incredible pants is my favourite - perfect pairing with the lace top! :)

I'm debating what to wear for CHristmas - it's been a while since I bought a new dress for the occasion but I haven't seen anything that catches my eye yet, so it might be picking a piece out of my wardrobe instead! :)

Hope you are having a lovely week, and you got some bargains in the sales. I ended up grabbing a little something on Cyber Monday after resisting temptation all weekend, haha!

  2. Oh, the holidays. I can resist fast fashion the res tof the year, for the most part, but when it comes to party season I always want to have lovely new things for every occasion - I can't help it. And all of these pieces are lovely, although I have a special fondness for the second set of photos featuring that effortless LBD. I love the sweetheart cut of the skirt and I know you'll be able to rewear it after the holiday season is over, which isn't always the case with the lovely things we pick up for holiday parties.

Not sure I would be able to handle those pants myself, too afraid of exposing myself, haha!

  7. Ooh I love that lace dress, but I don't think I'd be comfortable in it, at least not without a jacket! I do love the jacket you paired it with though--it's a perfect balance for the pretty lace. That black dress is gorgeous on you too!

  13. You know me, I will rely on my closet full of unworn dresses. I am just hoping they will fit.
My favourite look here is the second one, a true stunner. The dress and earrings could not be more perfect.

  15. They're all beautiful dear, but I think I'll go with the simple black dress with sleeves (2nd outfit). It's such a simple, classic, and elegant look. You paired it with the perfect clutch and heels. I love the earrings too, it really pops out from the black background.
