Fancy Pants

Everything comes around again. Even a pair of crazy shimmery wide leg pants I found on the free rack at a thrift store. I can't say much about their vintage or origin, the only tag states that they were made in Korea and the fabric content is 12% silk, 88% meatallic (and yes, that is how it's spelled).

Typically I wouldn't expect such an item to be having a moment, but metallic wide leg pants certainly seem to be. Everywhere from Anthropologie to Nordstrom are embracing the style.

In another instance of letting these languish in my closet for far too long without an occasion to wear them - and this particular look having been in my head since bringing the pants home - thai food on a Wednesday evening became the occasion. I opted for my flat Soak slides over heels as it was such a pleasant night I wanted to walk to the restaurant!

  3. These pants are fabulous - although I can imagine the thrift store would have found it hard to get someone to actually pay for them, especially at a time when palazzo pants weren't right on trend. But clearly, you got to gain from that, and lucky you. I love that the metallic gold shimmer is obvious when you look closely, but subtle enough that the pants could almost be considered beige at a glance, which I'm sure makes them easier to way for the transition for afternoon-to-evening-out. This whole outfit really does look like it was meant to be worn together - and it's rare that anything metallic could look so effortless!

  4. Those "meatallic" pants were quite the find - I agree with Cee that they do seem effortless on you, which is impressive for a metallic.
