Realities of holiday shopping

It happens every year. I go out Christmas shopping with the best intentions to not buy anything for myself, but inevitably I cave when I see something I'm just so smitten with, or the sale is just too good to pass up...

Of course this set is just an example, I wouldn't want to spoil any actual surprises for my family members, and the items 'for me' are more of a wishlist, and not purchases... yet.

For my brother, West Elm Faceted Tumblers, set of six for $30... Metallic Gold Tumblers, $34 for me.
For my mother, Target Fur Throw Blanket, $25... Chevron Frame, $13 for me.
For my sister, Forever 21 Makeup Brush Set, $5... Curb Chain Bracelet, $6 for me.
For my teenage cousin, Treds Star Studded Sneakers by Daddys Money, $83... Cutout Buckle Booties, $65 for me.
For my baby cousin, Land of Nod Wooden Animal Shakers, $10 each... Gold Rock Lamp, $79 for me.

This is a PR collaboration, my views and opinions are my own.

  1. One for me, one for you! Lol it happens to me everytime, not only on Christmas but also birthdays or any special days, I just can't help myself! These are such lovely thingies, specially those wooden animals, they'd be fantastic for my little nephew! And you should totally get all those on your wishlist, specially those cut out boots, must haves!

  3. Loving that lamp. I know that I wanted to buy my mom fuzzy pajamas...and then I bought us both fuzzy pajamas. So I feel ya.

  4. I think we all fall victim to this at Christmas... maybe because we're all in such a good mood from all of the eggnog and parties, everything looks shiny and new and wonderful and I always find at least as many things for myself as anyone on my gift list. I'm really, really trying to be more disciplined this season!

  6. I think it's very cute that you did a "for them/for me" because it's so true. Whenever I buy gifts for others, I always find something that I didn't know I wanted for myself.

  7. Love the fur throw! Target has some great holiday stuff right now! And I've totally failed with shopping for others. Black friday shopping was all about me :-( But I'm using the excuse that I have to fly across country for the holidays and don't want to buy my gifts in CA because I don't want to take up extra room in my luggage... Plus PA has less sales tax so I'd be saving money if I buy them there, right? haha...

  14. Isn't that always the case? I rarely have much on my wish list at the beginning of the season, but it grows and grows as I continue to shop for others !
