Thanks for the hug

It's always a tricky decision when I write something a bit more personal on the blog, and I just wanted to say thank you, so much to all of you who commented on my last post.

Your kind words really touched me, and many of you offered me a lot of advice that I know I truly need to take.

I am continually astounded by the wonderful community I've found myself in since I started this blog, and that alone makes doing this worth it.

Thank you all

And I totally bought that stuff from Old Navy.
Some other stuff too. Like this camel blazer, which was $20, secondhand from Coco's on the Green. I think it's vintage since it has a union tag, but I honestly don't know that much about vintage - just what I read on the internet.
Still, it's a gorgeous jacket, and a camel blazer is something that has been on my list of basics I've been wanting to acquire.

I can't really say that my other purchases over the weekend were quite as justified as the blazer -- like the earrings I'm wearing; I bought them thinking I'd give them to a friend for her birthday, but then realized they weren't really her taste...

I also picked up a pair of Adrienne Vittadini black pumps because I had a wedding over the weekend and "no" shoes to wear - $20 on clearance at TJMaxx!
And maybe I bought some other things too... but we can discuss my horrible binge shopping habits later...

  3. I'm so glad you're feeling better Lyddie =) you look great, love the picture with the remote control, my camera does not have a thing for wireless control, unfortunately, I checked the shoes you bought and you made a wise choice, although the other pair was cute too. Last week I went on a shopping binge myself, hope I love those things once they arrive on the mail. Blazer is definitely a basic, you can wear it in many ways and I bet it's going to be one must thing to buy for Fall. Love your coach bag, it's been a couple of months since I've seen those at the thrift stores, before I use to see them all the time, now the are very hard to find.

  4. The blazer was an amazing find! Holy moly beautiful color :)

PS. A shopping addiction is only harmful to the wallet. So in my books, that's not the worst thing to be addicted to.

  15. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is take a leap of faith and just DO whatever it is you want to do. We can be our own worst enemy. But I believe with a lot of hard work you can do whatever you put your mind to. ox

  21. That blazer is awesome, I'm totally jealous. And I saw your bag in brown at Brooklyn Flea yesterday. I was like oh, I like this.. it's $115? And not as good condition. New York prices can kill me sometimes.

And trust me, you're not a binge shopper. At. All. I should tell you about one of my roommates sometime...

  23. Great blog! I'm lovin' that blush coloured blouse.
I don't know why but I'm always jealous of people that can wear colours that make me look pale & washed-out. Mustard, red, anything pastel they all look great on brunettes. Again that blouse is great!

  24. That blazer is absolutely beautiful! And sorry I did not comment on your last post, just read it now. I just want to say that we are all there sometimes (at least I hope it's not just the two of us :)) and all we can do is put one foot in front of the other and keep going day by day. Hopefully if we are self-reflective enough (as you clearly are) we will keep growing na improving our whole lives.

  25. Don't give yourself a hard time about the shopping. It seems like most of the time your purchases are well-thought-out and not impulse buys (although I know we're all guilty of those sometimes!). I think you did awesome with this blazer--I'm sure you'll wear it over and over!
