Shirt dress

Does anyone else feel like last weekend was about a million years ago? Because I'm definitely ready for this one to start. Which I will do promptly after work when I plan on venturing to Old Navy to check out these striped shorts, and these printed capris. I really hope I end up buying them.

Lately I feel like when I intend on getting something specific, it doesn't work out. Case and point, my recent splurge on a pair of Ray-Ban Sunglasses that I'm sending back because they feel too loose.

It's so annoying when I get my heart set on something only for it not to work out. (In my closet, and in my life.)

  12. YES last weekend was a million years ago. Also, I'm sorry that your Ray-Bans didn't work! Did you try bending them? When I got a pair, I thought they were too loose but then my dad bent the middle and sides and they're perfect now. Might want to try that before you send them back.

Have fun with your trip to Old Navy!! I'm sure you'll find some things. I was there just on Tuesday and ended up getting two really cute sweaters and I was just like wow Old Navy, way to step up yer game!

Your shirt dress is cute. And with the cognac and the leopard and the gold, it's even more perfect. Seriously, can you ever go wrong with navy and gold?

  15. Man we are on a twinsie roll Lydia. I think this is the second time in like two weeks where we end up wearing similar things on the same day. Weird . . .

I love this shirt dress on you and the hat is a great addition.

I hope you find what you seek at Old Navy and have a great weekend!

  16. That seems to have been my summer list. I can't find a chambray/denim shirt for the life of me to try on (I had bought one last year online and it ended up being too short on me which NEVER happens and it was final sale =()
So I thought trying one on first would be a good idea. I also have not found the sweet flowy white dress I've been looking for. But last week my luck changed in finding wonderful sweaters to replace my old, tight, and baggy ones. So hopefully your luck changes and you find those shorts! Because I really like them... might need to get some....

    Have a good weekend!!!

  19. I'll cross my fingers for you on your Old Navy trip!! I want to make a trip there myself, I keep seeing lots of things I want.
By the way, that dress is fantastic! I love the little tiers at the bottom!

  20. I love the layering on the bottom of that dress!

I hate it when I get all hyped up about a piece of clothing and then it doesn't work out - it's even worse if it's something I've ordered online, and then I have a whole week to wait while it's being shipped to me, and I can't stop thinking about how perfect it's going to be, and then it arrives and it doesn't fit. Blergh.

  23. the same thing happens to me too. I go into a store with a plan to buy like a pair of pants and when the pants or whatever dont fit, etc I end up leaving the store with the most random crap to make up for the pant debacle.

  28. This is a cool shirt dress! I love that it's a knit.

Lately I've only been shopping for specific things... and not getting them because they don't work. I hardly bought anything all summer. I guess I should just go shopping with only a vague idea of what I'm looking for, haha.

  37. Sometimes I feel a little relieved when I take something that doesn't fit or wasn't as great as I anticipated back. It's like I had the fun of shopping, but fluffed my wallet back out, too :P

Love this simple shirt dress on you. I'm looking to thrift one suitable for work, although I love running around in the Old Navy one I thrifted for $1.99. But it's too short for the office :(

  38. Love your dress lady! It works so nicely with your sandals and hat. Sorry your sunglasses didn't work out for you. It is challenging when the vision you have for something don't match up to reality. I'm sure we can all relate to that.
