Less casual

Twice a year when my company closes early and goes out to lunch at a nice restaurant, I like to take the opportunity to dress up a little more than usual.

I'm the only person who does this. Everyone else pretty much just wear jeans.
Fortunately, now that I've been there for a while, this is expected of me, and not dressing up would probably garner comments like "What's wrong, where are your heels?"

  3. Well it's probably because you look so lovely when you dress up! This floral high low skirt is so gorgeous and have I told you that yellow looks fabulous on you? Because it does. Have a great weekend Lydia!

  7. Its the same for me. I always dress up a bit and if I'm in jeans...which is rare..everyone is asking me why I'm so casual.

The skirt is very pretty and I especially like it in the last picture where it looks a bit windblown and a bit flamenco.

  8. Love the skirt! It's very flowy and feminine. The windblown picture is great. I probably am the most dressed up at my work. Everyone seems to wear jeans all the time.

  9. I feel like this outfit is sort of like a perfect goodbye to summer outfit (even though I know you guys will still have warm weather for a while there) - all the pieces say "summer" but there are some hints and tones in that amazing skirt. I hope you guys all had a good lunch.

  14. haha aww, well, props to you for taking initiative to dress up when everyone else won't! ;)

You look great! This outfit is so warm and inviting, and I love the asymmetrical hemline of that skirt. I like where you took pictures, too~ so green!

  15. Okay whilst reading the other comments I have one thing to say. Where are you all working that you get to wear jeans to work!? I (as a former tomboy/athlete) would LOVE to be able to do this indiscrimantly.

Ever since starting my job-a long time ago now...- I've grown into all the "dressed up" wardrobe only to find I actually dress up more than my colleagues... oddly enough they can pull that causal-but-not look which I am now trying to manage.

So from my side if you can wear jeans and be casual do it. But if you can dress up for a meal do that too!!!

  20. Your skirt is beautiful, I like the print. The same happens on Fridays at school, pretty much everyone wears jeans and the school t-shirt, I never buy the t-shirt and rarely wear jeans to work, so whenever I have one of those bad days and I go in jeans everyone is surprised and ask "where is your skirt?"

  21. your clutch really stood out to me, it's beautiful! :D

This is one of my favorite photo locations. The rocks look so cool and they remind me of Central Park!
