Just your average lumberjack

Getting the Christmas tree is never a simple endeavor. It's an all day affair. Three hours of walking around the tree farm, me, shlepping through mud and dirt, over rocks and brambles in my heels (obviously I wore heels for this). Arguments over which tree we should get ensued.

After all was said and done, we ended up with a Frasier Fir from the parking lot behind the Kohl's. Don't judge.

But I put a lot of though into the perfect tree-getting outfit and arrived here, at gingham and fur.

  1. Haha! Hello perfect outfit!! That tree farm is in such a beautiful location! :)
Our Tree Cutting schedule was a little rushed this year. Usually we get the tree in the morning then head over to my grandmas for leftover turkey soup...then we go home and my dad puts up the real tree and my mom puts up the fake one and then we decorate them...but this year we had ti skip everything after getting the tree to go to my aunts XD (and then after that we decorated them fast.. :( )
And why I felt the need to type all that up I have no idea...

  9. Yep, definitely lumberjack chic. The red gloves completely make the outfit for me. I love them.

We used to hike through the mountains and cut the tree down, too. And drag is miles back to the car... okay, well maybe only one mile, but it was long to me when I was younger.

  15. Best lumberjack ever! I think finding the perfect tree is very tricky. It needs to be well thought out. In Australia it's just getting hotter everyday so it doesn't seem anything like Christmas. Then I walked by a store selling trees and the smell of them was overwhelming and reminded me that yup, it's December and nearly tree time!
