Picture me in purple (and a cape)

Snow Day
As predicted, the skies dumped piles of snow over the state of Connecticut and the roads didn't get plowed until mid day, so I stayed home.
Tempting as a day in pajamas always is, I decided to get dressed instead and have an outfit to show you.
Today was supposed to be green in colored tights week, but Iris and I agreed to push it to tomorrow. I wasn't going to ignore a perfectly wonderful pair of purple sweater tights on a day like today though!!

The Cape

It also seemed like the perfect day to show off my vintage cape which was gifted to me by a family member.

I got a little creative and turned my fur collar into a hat.

On days like these I kind of wish I had a photographer. I adore getting wonderful snowy photographs, but the AF gets confused sometimes with all the falling snow - not to mention my poor camera getting wet!

Just in case you were wondering how deep the snow was...

If you had a snow day today, I hope it was a good one! And did you fall victim to any online shopping?
I'm really tempted by this cardigan at Express for $24 ($32 after shipping). Do you think it's a lust, or a must?

  4. I love the outfit I think it was perfect for the snow!

The cardi seems more like a lust item since I feel like you have similar pieces.

  5. YAY SNOW! Sadly I had to stay inside and work, but at least I could work in my pjs! Definitely going to have to play in the snow this weekend, its at least 2 feet high, haha
I'm liking that cardigan! But I'm cheap so I wouldn't want to pay $32 on it, haha.

  7. I would be your photographer... but I'm too far away. I love the way you repurposed your fur collar. I've always wanted a hat like that! Your outfit looks so comfortable and cozy! Lucky you, I felt frozen all day!

  8. I'm with you on the wish-I-had-a-photographer-sometimes thing! It was snowing yesterday when I took photos, and it was so annoying! So many of them were out of focus due to the falling snow. Oh well...at least it looks pretty!

I love what you did with your fur collar, by the way! So fun!

  9. We definitely didn't get that much snow. Your picture are beautiful. Way to look stunning and dramatic on your day off.
As for the cardigan, I'd say get it if you can picture it in at least 4 different outfits!

  13. I love how your hair looks with the snow! And the cute puppy! Also I totally thought that was a vintage fur hat! I think that cardi is a lust =) don't you already have some similar to it? If not, why don't you go to the store instead of buying online? That's what I usually do to skip the shipping.

  14. CAPE! I just got a similar one. And I can't believe the snow up there is one lapdog high! Is your pooch part poodle perchance?

  16. You saw the BCBG wrap I bought at the GW for 5.49. I think you can find a thrifted cardigan (or even a vintage sweater from an estate sale) for much less, and you'll appreciate it that much more. Anyone can shop at Express, and by the look of your glamorous outfit in these pics (and every pic for that matter), you're definitely an original with such beautiful style. I say pass, but it is lovely. : )

  22. I'm sort of loving all the snow - and the day off yesterday wasn't terrible either! And I really like the cardigan, I think the price is good and it looks like it would be a versatile piece (I'm also from the "you can't have too many cardigans" school of thought).

I would not have gone out there if you paid me!
Well, it actually depends on how much...
I say NO to the cardis, I am certain you do not need them.
Also Chloe does not think you need them.
SHe thinks she needs a cardi.
