Four christmas specials of my favorite shows

I'm counting down to Christmas with my 12 favorite things; today is day four and I love it when show have special christmas episodes!

Here are some of my favorites...
Doctor Who has done a christmas special ever since the 2005 revival. Last years episode was really sad, but this year is supposed to be a take on A Christmas Carol, so I think it will be really fun.

No Holiday season would be complete without a viewing of Seinfeld's classic invented holiday, Festivus.

I totally miss the good old days of Full House. I suppose the Olsens are super fashionable these days, but they were just cuter then.

How I Met Your Mother is just one of the funniest shows there is!

USA has been really good about Christmas specials for their original shows. Even though Monk is over, Psych continues on with the tradition.

Leverage did a special this year -- I love Elliott in the Santa suit!

I adore Chuck and the Buy More Christmas spirit.

Ummmm, there was a Glee Christmas episode this year? How did I miss it? I need to go watch it as soon as possible!

Do you have a favorite Christmas episode?

I'm wearing a few things I haven't had on in a while, like this green snake cardi. I think the last time has to be February. Crazy, I know. It's good to do things like the No Repeats Challenge to help me think about what is in the closet and why I'm not wearing it.
These boots though, it would seem I'm living in them this winter.

And I really like tucking it into the skirt. Who said you can't tuck a cardigan?

Did you know that today is the shortest day of the year? Isn't it wonderful? I mean - everyday from now on there will be just the tiniest bit more sunlight.
Not to say that I don't miss the longest day of the year. Just thinking about it makes me a little teary. Light until 9 pm, warm summer air.... Only six more months.

Five dozen freshly baked cookies

I'm counting down to Christmas with my 12 favorite things; today is day five and I've been making cookies!

Well, I made one cookie, and the peanut butter squares (no oven required). And hopefully when I finish this blog post I will mix up the dough for ginger bread cookies and then I can bake them tomorrow evening, since the dough requires several hours of refrigeration before it can be rolled.
Chocolate Muzzettes
These are the cookies I made today, the Chocolate Muzzetts. Though this is last years photo, they look the same, haha. (Click through to flickr for the recipe!)

I also did a super fast and simple DIY -- Mustache Gloves! I just cut the stashes out of felt and glued them on to your average pair of $2 Magic Gloves; but the results are all fun and games.

I'm now one week into the No Repeats Challenge; it hasn't been to tough thus far, but it's only been one week! Well, I might even go so far as to say two weeks because I know what I'm wearing through Saturday and weather or not I'll even be getting dressed on Sunday remains to be seen. (The day after Christmas is typically a pajama/movies/leftovers day.)

I can see it being hard to not repeat these pieces for the next few weeks -- skinny jeans, basic grey top, bright blazer and leopard scarf; all very easily remixed.
Petit Handlebar
The petite handlebar is the classic.

300th post! Whoo!

Six brown paper packages tied up with string

I'm counting down to Christmas with my 12 favorite things; today is day six and I got my gift wrapping done! I was feeling very inspired by what I'd seen at Design*Sponge and went all out with my gifts. I spent far too long crafting each package, so I made sure to photograph them all!

It was also my goal to not buy a single thing. I've got piles of accumulated wraps, ribbons and the highlight of this years packaging, clip-on earrings from the Cavernous Jewelry Box.

Three Gifts gift - stocking green feathers gift button silver and plaid bethanys blue and silver red lace moms everyone all together

The brown gold paper is from Hallmark; who makes the best gift wrap ever because it's super thick and has those amazing grid lines on the back. Target has the thinnest most disappointing paper ever.
If you went to Origins in December of 2005 and had something gift wrapped, then that printed paper might look familiar to you. I'm not at liberty to say how I came in to piles of Origins gift wrap, but I can tell you that it's reversible and awesome.

Today I've got some great things for my No Repeats Challenge, this dress last worn in early October and this coat which has really, never been worn.

Remebered

I thrifted this coat last spring for ten dollars. The tags say Zara (My first and only item from that store!) I'd completely forgotten it was packed it away in the back of my closet, and was excited to get it on.

Remebered

I must say, I will be repeating this coat. Hopefully a lot, because it's gorgeous and I've already missed out on a month of wearing it.
