Unstoppable Style

I've mentioned the dire parking situation in Los Angeles, it's been one of my least favorite things to deal with. Last week when I was meeting up with Jessica in the Arts District, I circled looking for street parking for fifteen minutes to no avail. Determined not to spend $10 to park in a lot I drove a bit further and found a $5 lot. Now I just had to walk half a mile (not exaggerating) to the spot where we were getting coffee!

Thankfully, I'd chosen to wear the new slingbacks Vionic sent me, as I know I can rely on them to provide comfortable and supportive footwear. The soft kid suede needs no breaking in, and the low heel provides just enough height while still being walkable. I always appreciate a comfort footwear brand that doesn't compromise on style.

After Jessica and I had our coffee and I recovered from the stress of parking, we set out to take outfit photos with some flowering bougainvillea - it had been at the top of my Los Angeles photo bucket list, and I was delighted we were able to make it happen! Sadly, I fear not too many more of my dream photo shoots will get crossed off my list this trip, as I finally booked a flight home and this will be my last week in L.A.!

  1. Loving those shoes, they color is so pretty and they look cozy indeed! Stupid parking, I always avoid situations that involve crazy parking so I would never survive in LA, ha ha

  2. I am so spoiled by the parking situation here. IN fact, you are kind of laughed at if you pay for parking because we have so much land that is just available. So it's always kind of a shock to me when I travel for work and there's literally NOTHING around so I wear painful heels half a mile. I'm glad those shoe rock so much! They look like they would be awesome for my work backpack as a back up!

  8. Glad you found a parking spot in the end! :) It sounds so much more affordable than our parking here - even at $10, haha!

I like how the monochromatic outfit worked with the colourful backdrop, that is such a cute maxi dress! :)

  13. Aw, I thought for sure you were going to make this west coast thing a permanent change! You might be booking a flight right back out here when you get home and set foot on frozen ground! I've been eyeing a pair of Vionic ankle boots for awhile so I'm glad to hear the brand gets top reviews from you!

  15. Oh man I've been to LA and the parking is ridiculous. I learned to take a pair of flats or tennis to walk to where I'm going. Your heels are so chic and I love how long Vince shoes last!

  18. I loved those shoes when I saw them on your IG and I love them even more on. They just look like the perfect go-with-everything shoes. I don't think I could handle traffic and parking like that. Driving in general stresses me out, that would be too much for me!

  22. I am a reasonably good and confident driver, but a terrible parker. I will actively avoid anything requiring driving in reverse, anything requiring pulling in tightly and well, anything that isn't the perfect spot, honestly. So I can't imagine trying to park anywhere in LA - I just don't think I would be up to the emotional challenge. I'm glad you managed, and actually managed to find a reasonably priced lot, too. Thank goodness you had comfortable shoes on for the whole thing! I do love this slingback, block heel style, it's just so cute and surprisingly practical, too.

  23. It was not until very recently that we began to be charged with parking. All parking was free. And street meters were just 0.25 cents of a dollar for an hour. SO I too, refuse to pay for parking!!! Like seriously!
Oh and I'm glad you kept the blazer.
